DB-only is short for 'DB or partner, ticketable with a through ticket'.

Correct. But it needs a 'DB only' button, or some way to flag up through tickets, because simply showing them conceals the sale of through tickets.
You’ve got it the wrong way round! I’m literally explaining how to use these workarounds to ensure you get a through ticket, probably at a cheaper price, and with cast-iron passenger rights.
But showing everyone’s trains *is* the problem here. DB can in fact sell the 11:25 Eurostar but you’d then get multiple tickets not a through ticket.
The solution? Enter 'Brussel Noord' as Stopover 1 with 'length of stay' left as 00:00. The DB-run ICEs call there, Eurostars don't. Easy when you know.
But how are people supposed to know all this? Ask ME every time????
A different but similar problem affects later departures: If you want the 10:25 but do nothing, the planner finds the 11:25 Eurostar-formerly-Thalys instead of the 10:25 DB-run ICE as it's a slicker (but less robust) connection. But hey, it's not a DB train so no through ticket!
The solution? All you have to do is calculate the time between the Brussels-Cologne ICE arriving and the Flixtrain leaving, in this case 45 minutes, then re-run the enquiry clicking 'Stopovers' & entering 'Cologne' with length of stay 46 minutes. Then bingo, a through ticket!
The problem is the FLX, Flixtrain, a DB competitor. The DB website can sell Brussels-Copenhagen through tickets from €49.99, but ONLY if all sectors are operated by DB & partners. Here, the planner picks up an FLX and there isn't a 'show DB trains only' button (there should be!)
I've just dealt with an enquiry from someone trying to book Brussels to Copenhagen on the DB website. They found no tickets available!
Because just booking 'normally', they got this, for the 06:23 departure. No tickets. A dead end!
Is forcing dominant websites such as Deutsche Bahn's int.bahn.de to show competitors' trains always a good thing?
It can make things very hard for passengers, here's why...
I’ve heard September, but we’ll see.
Yes, seems CD decided to start before the Berlin-Hamburg trackwork was finished so diverted via Stendal and with a big pathing wait at Altona (time for a beer in the Schweinske across the toad)
I don’t believe press releases until I see a train bookable in the data. This is bookable - though Bahn hasn’t caught up!
Regiojet introduced Polish domestic trains on routes such as Warsaw-Krakow in late 2025 in competition with PKP Intercity. And will now withdraw them all again from 4 May. Seems their international Warsaw-Prague trains will remain.
Barcelona - Santiago de Compostela - Vigo goes from 3 per week to daily.
Change at Santiago for A Coruna, no more thrice weekly Barcelona-A Coruna service.

From next month, a direct Czech Railways ComfortJet train will link Prague & Berlin with Copenhagen every day, increasing to two per day from 14 June (with a faster schedule as Berlin-Hamburg trackwork will be over). 🥳
I wonder how they choose who gets bumped off? Those in that carriage? Those who paid least? Those that didn’t book the premium package?
Long may they continue!
A fascinating read! Spain’s infrastructure operator jump-started high-speed competition, and passenger numbers have increased by up to 68% since 2019.
Over the last week I’ve been whittling on about Fairey Swordfishes to the point where my 17yo daughter (who has no idea what one is) thinks I’m psychotic. “Is this ‘fairy swordfish’ in the room with you now..?” So I sent her this pic: “Erm, yes…”
Today I *finally* got to visit the absolutely superb Fleet Air Arm Museum at Yeovilton…
Is it OK now? They were installing a new ssl certificate earlier today.
MAV's (Hungarian Railways') IT contractor forgot that the clocks went forward on Saturday night...
Result? MAV ends up paying automatic 1 hour delay compensation for Sunday morning trains that were on time. Lucky passengers can keep their compensation!
The couchettes are 5-berth ex-DB Autozug, rented from RDC. The AB33 sleeping-cars are also leased from RDC, freed up from the Amsterdam-Zurich Nightjet by ÖBB Comfortline sleeping cars, themselves released by Hamburg-Zurich going new-generation DaNi.

Wasn’t a problem. Yesterday morning I could easily have changed my Eurostar passholder reservation from the 19:09 to the 16:09, although not the 17:08. I explain how Eurostar passholder availability works at www.seat61.com/interrail-an...
I’ve been wondering that too.
More about Interrail passes and how they work here: www.seat61.com/how-to-use-a... (and a 15% off sale is still on, until Tuesday morning)
Worth mentioning I used a 4-day Interrail pass for that Paris-Berlin-Hamburg-Basel-London trip. Bought in a recent sale, it justified itself even for a 3-day trip with the flexibility I needed compared to restrictive advance-purchase tickets. Plus you get a nice map… 😉
