Term limits do seem like a good idea. Too many older scientists hold on too long to positions of power. Arguably at least, that’s true of Collins. Probably true of all generations but perhaps more so for the boomers.
Looking at some of the reforms to the #NIH. The term limits for the director seem to be a direct response to dissatisfaction with Francis Collins, was director for more than 12 years. www.nature.com/articles/d41...
