The creepiest part of Ezra' Kleins present spiel is that his mind can't separate fascist LEADERS (Kirk, Ben Shapiro), whom one should shun, from ordinary citizens seduced by them, to be engaged as neighbors, even if deplorable. A genuine elite derangement.

This goes well with the Catherine Rampell story I reposted a couple of minutes ago. As important as the stories of Kirk and Kimmel are, this is the real emergency.

I am a fan of The Bulwark, but the record already shows that first they came for brown people. The reason people don't like the media is because the media always insist that they themselves are the most important story.

Charlie Kirk did not deserve his killing; nor did he advocate free speech or nonviolence. I also don't think he was killed 'for his beliefs', any more than Abraham Lincoln was killed for his.

We're grading on a curve here. This morning, Cox said he had prayed that the shooter would not turn out to be somebody from Utah, but from a different state or country. It's still us vs. them.

Which work? Calling for gay people to be stoned to death? Blaming airplane crashes on black pilots? Anti-vax bullshit? Election denialism? Pushing Great Replacement Theory?

Kirk’s murder is awful and ominous for this country. But no, we don’t need to honor him or “continue his work.”

As of this moment, it appears:

-Chicago has stopped Trump.
-Harvard has stopped Trump.

Bullies stop only when they meet resistance. And they keep moving until they do.

Who knows what tomorrow brings. But for today....
