And perhaps fronted adverbials are not the golden fleece of writing and may even be too cognitively demanding for younger writers.
Here’s an interesting paradox: when we process language the load on working memory is greater until we reach the verb, but corpus studies suggest that higher quality writing is associated with a greater number of words appearing before the verb. So clarity may not be quality.
