Drew is legit and I’m happy to see the work getting this recognition.
CRY DOWN DARK, my first book, is three weeks away from its tenth anniversary. It would mean a lot to me if you picked up and met Peter Toombs and a slice of doomed Utah.

I have either heard from every agent I’ve queried or it’s been long enough for me to assume a pass.
Unless something happens, I’m going to sit on this probably until June. Other things to write.
Received a short story rejection 45 minutes after submitting it. That’s brutal. Moving on.
Thanks. I am back in the trenches, though. Like small presses, I don’t have the money to self-publish right now. The difference between me and some of these others is that I’m not dragging anyone down with me.
One had already been released. That was a bigger cluster for that author than what happened to me. I used the small advance to eventually self-publish that book.
But I’ve been mishandled by other small presses, too. I know there are good people, but it’s still scary.
I had a book contract along with four other authors with a press that decided to close right before the pandemic. Since I had been paid half my advance and rights reverted immediately back to me, I wasn’t as hurt as others were. One book was set for release a couple weeks after the shut down and
I hate this because erodes trust in small presses all over. When it happened to me, six years ago, we didn’t have presses like Truborn stepping in to see what they could do. I’m glad we do now.
Hi, everybody.
I don’t post here as often as I should.
Thanks for hanging out.
I’m not even on the ladder yet. I finished a script that would be significantly better if directed by a woman.
I’m gonna need more of The Muppet Show, please.
God-tier photo

I am in my penultimate quarter of an MFA program and my last quarter in screenwriting. One script I have tried to find to read is SINISTER, but I can’t locate it.
Help a guy out?
I almost bought a videogame I want to play yesterday. I’ve never been much of a gamer and I’m not good at them when I do play.
There other reason I didn’t buy it is because I have six months left of my MFA program. That degree and getting a book deal take priority.
In stock. DM for purchases or requests for out of stock items.
CRY DOWN DARK: 16
ASLEEP IN THE NIGHTMARE ROOM: 2
PRIVATE LIVES OF NIGHTMARES: 11
TELL NO MAN: 4
THE LAMENTATIONS OF BLACKHAWK: 14
THE BLACKHAWK CYCLE: 0
So that was the last all-out fiction workshop of my MFA. Tomorrow, I have a screenwriting workshop. Next residency is all graduating stuff.
Screenplay. Done.
Frames from Star Trek: DS9. The Klingon, Kor, meets Jadzia, who is the new host of the symbiont, Dax. Kor grabs Jadzia in a hug and says, "Curzon, my beloved old friend!" (Curzon being the previous Dax host.) Jadzia replies, "I'm Jadzia now." Kor simply says, "Jadzia, my beloved old friend." Then there's a Klingon flag in trans flag colours that says, If Klingons can get it, so can you.
It really is that fucking simple, friends.
Two stories looking for homes.
“Sing” is a Pacific Northwest folk horror with hints of Lovecraft.
“Last Night at the Blue Flamingo” is a monster noir. Casablanca but with monsters.
What I need is a pop-up signing. Me, the books I have in stock, and a place to put a table that draws in readers.
Planning on it.
Somewhere out there, the right agent is waiting for me.
Cry Down Dark, Tell No Man, The Lamentations of Blackhawk, Asleep in the Nightmare Room, and The Private Lives of Nightmares: $20 each.
The Blackhawk Cycle: $35.
I’m calling it. For now, TJTranchell.net is dead. But I’m a horror writer, which means nothing stays dead.
I still have a lot of books in stock. I’ll take orders via direct message for now. Paperbacks are $20 including shipping. The hardcover is $35, including shipping.
In an effort to save the site, I have cut prices on almost everything. Come have a look.
