For me personally, I was inspired by the kirby game over screens where a hand would come out and beat up kirby. But for the team, it was kinda nice after 2 years of dev time to be a little mean to our cute little goob. I remember we were all laughing histarically when we first saw it.

I originally had a normal raycast, but in circumstances with slopes the player would occasionally phase through the ground and soft lock.

I used a box raycast to detect the angle of whatever the player collides with. If the player collides with a wall that is at a 90 degree angle, it will change the player's state to "Wallbonk" off the wall.
