“Doctor…what is it?”
“This ECG…I’ve never seen anything like it…you…you should be dead”
“Doctor….?”
*dreamily* “I am going to win the nobel prize”
Imagine being held at gunpoint (bear with me) by a literate animal, and the only hope of rescue is (BEAR WITH ME) tweeting a coded message
“For fuck’s sake, Montresor!”
hey man is everything ok?
I noticed you playing musical chairs with your coworkers; your boss controlled the music; when the music stopped, everyone but you had a chair; your boss pulled you aside; he said you were fired; your coworkers sighed; you slunk away in sobs

Powerfully straightforward, 10/10

The difference between cucumbers and pickles is jarring.
I am trying to get the hang of #darktable. Really powerful but tons of redundant controls; an infinitude of ways to get to the same result. At some point you stop trying to recreate Lightroom and go with the weird flow

My most treasured brush with fame was going to see firehose on the flyin the flannel tour, and I approached watt, and before I could even open my mouth he praised my flannel shirt, specifically the pocket, which was sewn “on the bias,” that is, diagonally to the dominant pattern
The tile floor and wrought iron trim in our 1927 hallway entrance and a view of our brick walk outside.
Some one was asking what the floors are like at our home...
That’s the spirit!
I don't think I've found any lens at any price that I like handling as much as my $100 Pentax 24-35mm zoom
My perhaps unpopular opinion about camera gear is that most lenses for most systems are perfectly fine optically, and, unless you're shooting professionally, the most important thing is how it feels to use them. Otherwise why have a dedicated camera at all?
Yes!! I had to sell my old M9-P a decade ago and finally got it together (unexpected large tax refund) to go for an upgraded semi-obsolete equivalent. Even used, kind of a stupid expense, but I can't help myself
Many 35mm M-mount lenses, even third-party ones, focus with a tab, which I'm not into...I like a scalloped grip all the way around the focus ring. My old fave was the Canon 35/2 despite its middling performance. Version 2 of the Simera lens has both, and the tab isn't so sharp and protuberant...👍

Nothing super special about these, just testing a new lens (Thypoch Simera 35mm v2) around King Ferry and Genoa NY this morning...don't point it at the sun, but it's very sharp and handles beautifully
My favorite of the odd-time brubecks is “unsquare dance” (7/4) and I love when it gets used in tv and movies…the studio most recently
Have you heard "Take Five" in 4?
(I first heard this version (which also happened to be the first version of the song I ever heard) on The Specials' 1996 all covers album Today's Specials)

Unfortunately this is pretty good
I opened yt to play the mission impossible theme for my kids (it’s a household theme, I hum it while dangling the baby upside down to pick things up) and the first thing that came up was a COVER in 6/8 TIME WHY WOULD ANYONE DO THIS
I just want to use “They carved him up like a St. Louis bagel” in something
I actually think this is brilliant and may try to convert my household. Greatly expands your options for how much bagel to eat, and there is no good side and shitty side
A guy parked an RV on our street for two years. Never used it, it just sat there like an office building
Tracy Kidder wrote the best book about teaching, “Among Schoolchildren,” that I have ever read.
