Lived experience can mean anecdotal, highly emotional, narratives can take over - leading to confusion and paralysis.
Zooming out and looking across all sources of evidence gives a more balanced approach.
Lived experience - why it's often dogmatic and shouldn't be the be-all and end-all

I think there are other arenas in which they clash.
For example, if I talk about parenting in the context of ASD, some approaches will produce better outcomes but appear unkind in the short term.
The loss of Victoria Wood and Prince on consecutive days was really quite bizarre. Two of my biggest teenage heroes gone in two days.
I'd rather be right than kind.
The truth is more important than the fear of being rude.
POV: you're a bee enjoying the bluebells 🐝
Providing a pop of spring colour, these beautiful blooms are also a fantastic source of early-season pollen and nectar for pollinators emerging from hibernation. What a sight after the winter months!
I'm not a woman because I'm beautiful. I'm a woman because I'm female.
And WHERE WERE YOU and WHY ARE YOU SO LATE? Come on, I'm waiting.
Lots of dads step up without a handbook, though. Why can't people just find their own way?
Well, they have been given the right to appeal. Let's hope common sense prevails.
YES!
Australian lesbians are allowed to meet without men! Whether they "identify as" women or not.

It’s infuriating when a woman comes forward about a man raping her in his hotel room after drinking and the response is “Why would she go to his room?” “Why would she drink with him?” This is Mike Pence logic. Women should be allowed to hang out with men without expecting they will be raped.
“One Session May Be Sufficient.” How Activist Providers Want to Overhaul Assessments for Youth Gender Transitions
I obtained a video of a 2023 conference presentation regarding an “embodiment goals” focused youth-gender-care assessment model.

Irony is alive and well.
TRAs are violent misogynists.
A man with a violent past who was shouting “punch a TERF” (which is every woman who does not submit to the TRA’s agenda) protesting against single-sex spaces designed to safeguard girls kind of emphasises the point that it’s not a good idea to grant access to all men who want to enter these spaces.
Man who is too violent for an anti Trump march.
Protesting against girls having single sex spaces

Do you think you adequately risk assessed the protest or did you plan for a man who ate his own testicles to be present?
He was too violent for an anti Trump march and yet was allowed at a protest against safeguarding girls????

Wow with skin this thin you’d think we’d be able to see Trump’s vital organs working .. but let’s face it who gives a sh*t about seeing them working 🤷🏼♂️
Does he even know what AI is?
Susan Smith @forwomen.scot says so many people tried to write them off because they were middle aged women and they were dismissed as ‘hags’ and ‘unfanciable’.
Victoria Smith's excellent book, Hags, explores the very specific reasons why this type of misogyny is so powerful today.
In Cardiff at the #OneYearLater event. Women are discussing their needs for single sex spaces whilst a man in a dress is shouting 'have you ever seen a TERF with any style' through a loudhailer. The difference in the seriousness of the message is extremely stark.
