It’s so surprising because OUR HISTORY IS THE FUTURE is about the tradition of Indigenous resistance in this country, and those movements, as well as tribal organization, was so often more similar to anarchism than anything like an authoritarian state!

I’ve mostly read his book, and I dip in and out of listening to Red Nation Podcast, which has a lot of hosts. So I don’t have a comprehensive knowledge of everything he’s ever said, but I always got more anarcho-commie than Stalinist vibes, to apply Western labels, which I think he avoids
He’s not self-identifying as a proud tankie, he’s pointing out the ridiculousness of the term when it’s applied to anyone who supports armed anti-colonial resistance. His guest mentions Hungary w/ Stalinist apologia, and Nick doesn’t contradict him but that doesn’t make him a Stalinist

Read the caption to that slide. Also I’m pretty damn sure Nick Estes doesn’t self identify as a “Stalinist.” You could knock me over with a feather if he does.
