I am watching Moby and Jacob Lusk on repeat. Damn, that’s some good stuff.
When I cancelled my Adobe subscription, they said that I'd still have access to Adobe Fonts but it's not clear which fonts are only available via a subscription. (It says only 5500 of the 30k fonts would be available.)
As a lifelong Canadian, interacting with the US government always feels a little more arduous than necessary.
Sending money to the IRS via online payment and really hoping this goes through smoothly. Nothing feels particularly clear.
What're people using for a NAS these days? I'm thinking of going local media instead of relying on the cloud so much.
The problem with social media algorithms and April Fools jokes is that the jokes appear long after the day is over.
OH: You went from CI/CD to YO/LO.
I appreciate that Sara tracked down this post as it helps provide some context on what's really interesting about this library. I can see the scenarios where it can be helpful—like infinite lists but ugh, I dislike infinite lists, too.
It's one thing to try something new and interesting. But this doesn't feel like innovation. It feels like a solution in search of a problem.
Congrats, I guess, on building a layout engine that is demonstrably worse, feature-wise, than what we already have to solve some edge cases you've run into. You sure showed those CSS zealots a thing or two.
chequemate.
I'm very pro-nap, regardless of circumstance.
Managed to sleep in until 9:30am and was pleasantly surprised until I realized the clocks jumped ahead. I guess I didn't sleep in as much as I thought.
I'm down to owning just 4 domains and I'm tempted to drop it down to just one.
Renewing a .ms domain went from $45/yr to $80/yr. That's quite the jump in one year.
Only partial. (Version 26.3 (21623.2.7.11.6))
Enjoying some Octomore 10.1 on this fine afternoon, keeping me warm inside while it's cold outside.
Also, it's "why the hell am I drinking in L.A. at 26" and not "why the hell am I drinking in L.A. at twenty to 6:00".
I am today years old when I realized they sing "He just smiled and gave me a Vegemite sandwich" and not "He just smiled and gave me a bite of his sandwich".
My more nuanced thoughts are not every coffee place is going to make coffee in every conceivable way and a place isn't good or bad because they prepare coffee in a way you don't like. It's the "what if I don't like beans" meme.
I think I have become one of those people. I saw a comment from this person who complained they weren't able to get a straw or vanilla syrup with their cold brew and I thought "maybe you should go to Starbucks if that's what you want".
Am I a speedskater? No.
Do I even own skates currently? Also no.
Do I want a helmet like the Olympic speedskaters? Yes.
Appliance stores should let you demo the appliances before purchase. Like, let me bring over a load of laundry and see how well the washer and dryer actually works.
Having just watched @ethanmarcotte.com repost about sticky toffee pudding, this took me for a loop.
It's a cup half full, half empty metaphor that popped into my head at some point but in the context of "success".
Would you rather be at the top of a trapezoid or the bottom of a triangle?
Me: "Even a broken clock is right twice a day."
Kids these days: "What are you talking about? Is your phone broken?! How can you even tell the time without your phone?"
Always a joy.
"When you eat beaver, you understand that it's beaver."
