Wishing the legend that is Iggy Pop a very Happy 79th Birthday! š
A visit to Hiroshima yesterday.
Now a lovely green peaceful place.

Good point Ian. Well made too.
But as ever in these debates - have you been heckled by art-punk supremoes Wire about your school trouser leg width? Thought not.

Youāre welcome.

Excellent Part 2 with @collettwriter.bsky.social in this latest Punk Scholars podcast which looks at punk and gender and the recasting of the nihilism associated with punk as a āpromising voidā. Includes Caroline reading another extract from her forthcoming book

Bought all the first three HD records from Selectadisc in Nottingham after hearing them as usual on the John Peel show - āReal Worldā - what a blast of an opening track. š„
What a band Olly. Life changing stuff. š„

Next Saturday, only a red wrestling boot's throw from the site of Haddon Hall...
Brew and a listen to the best of all of the (two) SFA best ofs. Put together by the band after their song rights reverted to them, the two cd Zoom! is a brilliantly eclectic mix of well known and deeper cuts. And Yorkshire tea.

I love me a character fence. Plus my favourite REM album! Good work!

Totally agree. I think itās an excellent album. And AP is proficient enough a guitarist to keep the standards up - they were an excellent band before Dave G joined, and they remained so after he left.
An oil painting titled 'Following Mum and Dad', depicting a lone figure at the end of a lane under grey skies and near-bare branches. The vegetal grown either side of the lane is umber and orange.
Tonight's goodnight image is 'Following Mum and Dad', Mark A. Pierce. Oil on canvas.
All these things. And his autobiography is magnificent.
A black background. Everything upon it is stark white. In the top right hand corner is a shot of Pete Townshend windmilling his right arm while holding his guitar in his left. Most of the poster is made up of lettering announcing the band play āTuesdays at The Marquee 90 Wardour Streetā.
Brian Pikeās fabulous āThe Who - Maximum R & Bā poster from November 1964. Quite possibly the most exciting poster in the history of rock.
Well he DID work away constantly, so anything is possibleā¦š
