Surely you can't be serial.

I just wasted a couple of hours trying to debug an obviously-correct Arduino program and eventually I discovered...

...HelloWorld is not forwards compatible from older Arduino Uno to Uno R4.

What the fuck were they thinking?

What if he's just an asshole with dementia?

Looking for a logical explanation might be a fool's errand

You're welcome to DM if you wish. I understand entirely your point about skeets being a difficult medium for complex ideas.

I'm surprised it's as much as half. I watch some Finding Your Roots, and it's pretty much inevitable that anybody white whose family have been in the US long enough has some African heritage, and vice versa. That's another reason the whole "one drop of blood" standard in the South was stupid.

My wife's family are all from Southern Italy and Sicily. When her father did a DNA test, he found that he had about 5% Arabic heritage. Sicily in particular is an absolute melting pot of the Med.

Lucy pulls the football away just as Charlie Brown is about to kick it.

I hope that the Dems will not be this stupid. Vote first, then shutdown ends.

However, I suspect that they are exactly as dumb as Charlie Brown.

Let's also not forget Operation Paperclip, which whitewashed the Nazi records of "sufficiently valuable" engineers and scientists.

Prove me wrong. I'm not making this up, it's right there in black and white for everybody to read.

Bonus fun fact: Jaguar started out as the Swallow Sidecar Company before becoming SS Cars in 1935 and introducing the SS Jaguar. After WWII [oddly, not during] they renamed the company Jaguar, for reasons obvious to everybody except Elon Musk.

Anyway, the SS Jaguar 100 is an amazingly beautiful car

I asked a well-known search engine about gods of writing or authors. This was one of the top results:

BTW, I had the term "scientific racism" because it sounds like it is validating the concept, but unfortunately that is the term in common use, even by critics of it.

Indeed. If people were dogs, we would all be the same breed. There is more genetic variation within the population of Sweden than between the average Swede and the average Nigerian (to pick two random countries). "Population genetics" as a basis for racism is silly. But so is all "scientific racism"

You are not engaging in good faith debate.

Instead of responding to the (valid) claim that women are less prone to these behaviors, you leapt to the fallacy of the excluded middle and hyperbole.

If you want to be taken seriously, respond to what was actually said, not the voices in your head.

Apparently, "nonplus" used to be a verb and a noun, though sadly today we are left only with the adjective nonplussed.

I think we should revive it.

"Read this Trump speech, it will nonplus you. He really brings the nonplus."

(For whatever it's worth, Godfather 1 and 2 are just about the only gangster movies I have enjoyed, unless you count classic Noir. I'm just glad that they didn't make a third movie.)

...which, I'm sure you would agree, would be fine if somebody didn't like gangster movies, regardless of their subtext? It would just mean that they wouldn't find many Pacino movies to enjoy, including what many people consider his best. Personally, I'm partial to Dog Day Afternoon.

And also to clarify: I'm not trying to develop a balanced a sense of her oeuvre or the arc of her career. I'm trying to find movies to enjoy, and lots of people have spoken highly of her work. So I feel like there might be something in there for me.

To clarify, by "setting aside", I mean I have no opinion. I don't know the facts, and never will. Some of his earlier stuff had moments (Broadway Danny Rose). I can't speak to his later stuff because I haven't seen it. I'd be a fool to.

But back on DK: what should I watch?

Setting aside Woody Allen the person, other than Hannah and her Sisters, I just don't like Woody Allen movies. Sorry. But thank you for the informed response
