I like to treat myself to some cake after, just as a very private act of rebellion 😂

I am determined to get some time in the studio today but I am: exhausted!
Splatter effect?!
🌟Sale🌟
I need a little more space to refocus in my studio, so have put a lot of my pieces on sale on my website, some with as much as 60% off. Grab a bargain, help me keep my studio ticking over in materials, and thus maintain my relative sanity!

Realise I’m late to it but how come The Pit is so watchable?!
I make my own dipping glazes, this is a version of a matt green
I want ☹️☹️
I have absolutely zero energy today. None. Zip. Can’t throw, can’t garden, can’t even tape a pot. I’ve managed a little time sitting in the garden, and the rest of the day is going to be sitting in the house 😴😴😴
It’s a matt green from a recipe. I think the original was a Stephen Murfitt blue. I’ve mostly used this one at cone 6 but it does quite different things at cone 8
Little pot held in my hand. It has a pale glaze on the bottom, green on the top, and a green-blue ombré where they overlap
The rest of the kiln was mostly testing how my existing glazes perform at a higher temp, some hits some misses, and this gem of a combination that requires much more exploration
Kiln opening day! First major use of this glaze in this firing schedule is a thumbs up. Feels like lichen. Quite liking the pebbly vases, too.
I’ve had some better moments the last week or two, compared to the sheer hell of the last two months, but I still cannot exist in indoor/enclosed spaces outside of my home without my body just absolutely screaming to GTFO. Even with diazepam I’m miserable. I don’t understand it.
It won’t be soon but I’ve been noodling around the idea of a little ceramic ritual set. For me, I’d have a plate, a small candle holder, a cup and space for some trinket or whatever. But how to make it more universal, I wonder
Pottery website sale sheningans also distracting from my day, which is the inquest into my auntie’s death but I could not attend.
Hope the aggressive rest helps!
I’m also really aware that my peers often do not have the funds for luxuries, and handmade ceramics almost certainly are a luxury, but everyone deserves nice stuff! I’m constantly aware of doing what I can do not out-price as many people as possible.
For now, it’s UK shipping, although we have plans to expand that now everything is less… impossible!
I also have a selection of seconds, which I haven’t listed because I’m unsure anyone would want to pay postage for an item sold for £5-10, but if that’s of interest, lmk, I can make it happen.

@dieworkwear.bsky.social can we get a weigh in
I hadn’t read them so I had no skin in the game, but it certainly missed some marks
JLC was either great or terrible and I’m unsure which
Just finished Scarpetta and it’s one of those rare things that is truly just all over the map all the time
The doctors like to put themselves/each other on drips too, for like a hangover, and I can only imagine what would happen if someone pulled that in an NHS hospital, where they will fire nurses for eating the leftover food!
We might just be underestimating the number of people who seek care for things that don’t need it!
I’ve been for a swim in the lake. First swim of the year in my shortie, and I got my face in for a proper front crawl swim. I’ve not been able to go to the pool for a couple of months and I’ve really, really, REALLY missed it.
Given how common this is in US dramas I have to think it’s more common for some people to use the ER first. Whether that’s bc they don’t always have to pay, or can be seen then dodge payment, idk, but its def a thing
It’s my new favourite thing!
Thank you :)
Mug post! These mugs are all available to buy on my website.
The resist decorated ones speak for themselves, I hope.
But the others feature a new particularly comfortable handle, and they are a decent size; the Spring Blue holds 330ml and is priced at just £28.
