Had a wonderful time spending time and fishing with my good friend and colleague, Congressman Troy Carter from Louisiana, along with some great outdoorsmen.
Trying to depict himself as Jesus Christ is blatant blasphemy and a complete disgrace. It is offensive to people of faith and shows a level of arrogance that should concern every American.
But truthfully, I’m not surprised. This kind of erratic, self-serving behavior has been on display for years.
Happy birthday
When they start complaining about how horrible things are right now, just remind them we voted for the Vice President, we chose clear, qualified leadership, not convicted chaos.
This is Republican governance, reckless, harmful, and out of touch. They don’t fix problems, they create them, then leave everyday people to deal with the damage. Democrats fight to build, they choose to break.
I had a great time this morning at the Greater Jackson Chamber Partnership Legislative Breakfast!
Praying for a safe and speedy recovery
While some answered the call to serve, others found ways to avoid it. Character shows in the choices you make when duty calls.
I found this throwback of my friend and brother Congressman Jim Clyburn, my friend the late Congresswoman Eddie Bernice Johnson, and the late Secretary Alexis M. Herman. Moments like these remind me of the power of leadership, legacy, and lifelong friendship in public service.
In Anguilla with the amazing people of Sharkey County! We are working and rebuilding stronger. I am grateful for the resilience of this community.
Thank you!

I didn’t begin this journey at the top or with a roadmap. As Langston Hughes wrote, life has not been a crystal stair. Every challenge only strengthened my resolve to expand access and opportunity.
Thank you for the faith and the honor of serving you.
Your voice matters. Your vote matters.
Do not sit this one out. Show up. Speak up. Vote.

The past few days, I’ve been on the road for our annual “Big Check” presentations bringing federal investments directly back to our communities.

Honoring leadership rooted in justice and progress, including 42nd President Bill Clinton, 44th President Barack Obama, and 46th President Joe Biden.
Here’s to a democracy that works for all.
I truly enjoyed visiting St. Peter M.B. Church in Grenada County for their Black History Program. It was an honor to reflect on our history and celebrate the strength and resilience that continue to shape us today.
Mississippi’s Second District is built on faith, resilience, and strong communities. When we come together and look out for one another, we are stronger than any challenge we face.
The chaos coming out of this administration and Congressional Republicans continues to hurt working families and create uncertainty in our communities. I will continue to speak up and fight back when policies threaten Mississippi families.
I want to thank all the officials, community leaders, and community members who came out to my campaign office open house last Friday. I truly enjoy these moments of fellowship with all of you!
I’ve been blessed to see another birthday, and I’m grateful for the many years of life and the memories along the way. I woke up this morning to so many birthday messages, and I truly thank you all for thinking of me. I am forever grateful.
I was proud to secure $1,000,000 in federal funding for 10 sheriff’s offices across Mississippi’s Second District to strengthen community safety and support local law enforcement. Ensuring our communities have the

ICE has been threatening & enacting violence on communities across the US, including in my home state of Louisiana. I’m being joined by #HomelandDems Ranking Member @benniethompson.bsky.social & other Democratic colleagues to talk about recent immigration enforcement actions & their impact.
Many communities throughout Mississippi have been facing snow and ice since the weekend, which is a rare occurrence for our state. If you experience any damage, please report it to your County Emergency Management Administrator (EMA).

Another U.S. citizen killed in cold blood by ICE/CBP in Minneapolis for exercising First Amendment rights. Sick and un-American. Trump and Kristi Noem have blood on their hands. Release the body-cam footage now and get ICE and CBP out of Minneapolis.

This weekend was absolutely splendid. I enjoyed traveling through the district, participating in some of the MLK parades, and fellowshiping with the good folks of the district.
As a Member of Congress, I swore an oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. I will continue to honor that oath, because as far as I am concerned, the danger remains clear and present, and it happens to be sitting in the Oval Office.
