โThe wars being fought today involve several regions of the world, but the weapons with which they are fought are produced in entirely different regions - in those same regions that then refuse and turn away the refugees who have been generated by those weapons.โ

My wife and I have been watching from South Africa! We canโt catch it live because of the time difference, but weโve been loving it, thanks for all the work you put into it! Brothers K is our household favourite, we even gave our son the middle name Alyosha!
I see your point, but Iโve also noticed that the most dehumanising theologies arise not from a lack of transcendence, but from a lack of immanence. When we lean too heavily on transcendence without being anchored in the incarnation, we too often turn a deaf ear to the cry of our neighbour.
Over the weekend, a group of friends and I came together, driven by the conviction that the recent allegations by the President of the USA require a strong and clear response from white Christians in South Africa.

A theology that has nothing to say to the the richest men causing death and destruction to the poorest and most vulnerable people, while creating pathways to secure more wealth and power for themselves, is useless in seeking God's kingdom on earth as it is in heaven.
The audiacity of Trump (right next to Netanyahu) to speak about the state of Gaza (as if what happened there was an accident), and his proposed occupation of the land as a real estate investment, as benevolence is just appaling. Ethnic cleansing was always the Netanyahu regime's manufatured plan.
Thanks for your thoughts. I shared the piece with a lady in our church who has a big footprint in the NGO sectors in South Africa. I hope it will encourage and motivate them.
Trump talking about South African land is rich, especially when in the same week heโs talking about taking over Gaza!

Shot Jarrod! Appreciate it man!
Hey Craig! Yea I remember connecting with you about two years back at The Wykeham Collegiate here in PMB! But yea, Iโll pop you a DM to connect a bit more! Thanks man!
I minister in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa.
Iโm looking to connect with networks that are more actively engaged in peacemaking, reconciliation, and holistic mission. Do you have any recommendations?
What are some of the global church networks youโre connected with? I used to attend City on a Hill (Acts 29) in Melbourne and have also been part of Acts 29 networks in South Africa. However, throughout my studies, Iโve found myself growing into a more kingdom-minded theological vision.
Never said that mate.
Donโt blame the voters, blame the Biden administration and Harrisโ unwillingness to detangle themselves from Zionism.
Do we have prophets today? Yes! Look no further. Spoiler alert, theyโre not slick fortune tellers. They stand up to the powers and principalities.
One of the biggest blotches of modern Christianity is its impulse to reduce the prophet to a greasy guy telling you about your future. We need to recapture the term for what it is. Hereโs theologian Walter Brueggerman for you:
