Great piece, Dave!

Breaking Supreme Court News: The high court has undermined a $745 million coastal land loss suit filed by a Louisiana Parish against fossil fuel companies, including Chevron.
Update: On Thursday, the Senate voted 50-49 to send a measure revoking mining prohibitions on U.S. forest land near the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness to President Donald Trump for a signature.
Today, the Senate is due to vote to strip legal protections from a pristine wilderness in Minnesota.
I spoke to locals about it, and discovered the issue is about more than just jobs. It's also deeply rooted in American nostalgia.

In her defense, I haven’t really told her about money yet
This was my dog’s reaction when I told her about the new inflation numbers.
Not fussed, I guess…
These sorts of graphs are just so rad to see
New in Landmark: The fight over the Trump admin's repeal of rules that reduce the amount of mercury coming from coal-fired power plants has just begun.

BREAKING: Trump "God Squad" voted unanimously to exempt oil and gas activities in the Gulf from Endangered Species Act protections.
The group (named for its power to effectively sentence species to extinction) said national security compelled the decision
Decision risks whale, sea turtle lives.
New in Landmark: A judge just handed the Trump administration a big loss on the Endangered Species Act.
But the ruling landed one day before the so-called "God Squad" convenes to potentially sentence Gulf wildlife to extinction in the name of oil and gas.

"I don't think they should be given any benefit of the doubt that what they’re doing here is a lawful approach, or that they have the authorization to do what they are doing," former BOEM head Liz Klein told me. heatmap.news/energy/trump...
Huge news on the DOGE front, a federal judge has allowed a lawsuit challenging the advisory commission's authority to proceed, rejecting the Trump administration's motion to dismiss the case.

Could be. $75 a month is ~$17 a week.
If the crew they send only did my building, and had to travel, that’d be a bad deal for them.
So I guess it depends on how many buildings they move trash for nearby.
So yeah. Your bet seems good! Thanks!
Ah got it. My block is just two days a week, and I only see people put trash out one day a week.
Which I think is similar to what my other Brooklyn apartments have been, at least in practice.
But even so — interesting to think about the hidden cost!
Is there a tl;dr for how you get to $75 per unit?
I’m in a 4 unit building in Brooklyn. Everyone brings out their own trash (and I’ve never lived in a building where tenants didn’t takeout their own trash). So there is a 10ft space between the outdoor cans and the curb.
What’m I missing
New in Landmark today: Expect some tricky legal maneuvering behind the scenes as lawsuits challenging the Trump EPA’s endangerment finding repeal progress.

I mean.. yikes. Would not want to be this attorney

One of my favourite guys on here are the ones who doesn’t get that newspapers employ people to write on a number of topics.
They’re always like “good to see the NYT Cooking section focusing on a carbonara recipe instead of the war in the Middle East 🙄”
“Oil lobbyists have made the case to Trump officials in recent weeks that his attacks on wind farms off the U.S. coast risk derailing congressional efforts to speed up permits for energy projects, according to people familiar with the matter.” www.wsj.com/politics/pol...
As U.S. forces attack Iran, a dark-money network of anti-Muslim billionaires, fossil fuel empires, and arms dealers is suddenly far closer to its goal.
