2025 was rough. Learned a lot, improved a lot, but also made a lot of mistakes.
I’m here to make 2026 a better one. This one’s personal. An apology to myself.
Happy New Year 2026!

It was hilarious to see her call out every major plot point out of sheer repetition.
I shared Rumblijg Hearts with my mom and it spread amongst my aunts and cousins like a wildfire.
She calls it “an animated Mexican telenovela”

I haven’t done this since college and it’s been an absolute blast to get back into meal prepping like this.
8 small food containers on a table. Inside each container is a portion of shredded chili crisp chicken mixed with rice and green onions topped with sesame seeds.
10 small food containers on top of a table. They contain rice with Korean BBQ brisket, green onion, and sesame seeds on top.
Skirt steak cut in half on a cutting board
Work has been picking up a lot and I’ve had very little time to cook. So this and last weekend I’ve been doing meal prep.
I’ve done Chili Crisp Chicken and Korean BBQ Brisket meals. I also did Skirt steak with carne asada dry rub to turn into steak and cheese breakfast burritos.
It's really hard *not* to feel hopeless about the future of localization sometimes. I started out doing pretty decently―not great, mind you, but decently―but it's gotten to the point where it seems companies are just on a race to see how quickly they can get rid of us as quickly as they can.
Today is #StopKillingGames day! If you live in the UK or the EU you have a chance to potentially make a difference to the future of game preservation just by signing a petition. Information here: www.stopkillinggames.com
Fun first day at VCF in Dallas. Lots of people showed up and stopped by. Looking forward to seeing more faces this weekend.
I'll be there all day tomorrow (Saturday), as well as Sunday afternoon. Hope to have someone to keep the TV running while I'm absent Sunday morning!
Pogo Stick (experimental Sopo edgeguard vs Fox)
As controversial as the new frosted glass designs from Apple seem, I'm just happy to see things pop again. Corporate minimalism has made everything forgettable.
Since Nintendo won't give it away, we've decided we will instead. Picked up a few copies to giveaway next week on the site, but as a head start, just make sure you're following and repost this for a chance to win one!
I'll draw a winner at some point on Sunday. Be aware it's a UK code!
Mario Kart World is kicking my ass in ways I did not expect. The CPUs are all better at leveraging the jump, grind, and wall ride mechanics than me. I look over my shoulder and I see Rosalina grinding on a ridge and can’t even imagine how she got there.
Fun to have a new game I can practice :)
I just ordered the wireless gamecube controller because I want to take it apart and that shipped yesterday.
boogeymanning everything related to “ai” and boycotting anyone who touches it is going to result in us not being able to use new technology where it’s actually useful
moderation of heinous content is soul-sucking, health-destroying work. automating it wherever possible is worthwhile.
Also if you want to see a scene where there's equal chances of a tourney being won by a 12-year-old or a guy pushing fifty, look at fighting games. A genre where every action is counted in milliseconds and individual frames.
Don't make excuses. Don't be a sad doomer. Anyone can learn videogames.
People get so mad when you tell them that its bad to go vroom vroom and break the law because they're really insecure about what they're doing
Fiddling with some different gacha games this week - tried Nikke for the 5th time, much more playable on PC but the resource wall sucks. Tried to install Heaven Burns Red but it refuses, same with SD Gundam G Generation, weird. WuWa is pretty and kinda fun but also kinda bored with Genshin-likes hrm
A statement from NYC Melee:
I'm excited to finally release the first public version of WavePhoenix, my open-source implementation of a Nintendo WaveBird receiver - github.com/loopj/waveph...
WavePhoenix is 100% open source hardware and firmware, fully compatible with OEM WaveBird controllers, and can be built with less than $5 in parts.
Full build instructions for the mini receiver are available here: github.com/loopj/waveph... I can't wait to see some of these in the wild!
I am sure most of you know the difference shown below but I still encounter many ppl who have spent hundreds of dollars for retro gaming scalers based unrealistic expectations to upscale low resolution video games.
It would be great if you can retweet. Thanks. 👍

One of my personal favorites.
I woke up this morning and started watching Melee combo videos again. SilentWolf’s Attack On Top Tier, Ganon on Ice, Johnny B. Goode, I killed Mufasa, etc.
I have not played melee in a month and don’t have time for it but the itch is getting real bad.
I was sent the Goomwave firmware. It's state machines and timers for almost everything.
It's macros all the way down.
I go on twitter by default and just get mad and depressed
Remember this exists and I’m like damn social media doesn’t have to be a rage producer
New from me - Abdulaziz "Hax$" Al-Yami has died, and the worst people you know have decided that his corpse is the next tool in a culture war. My only ask is that these vultures tell the truth about the mental health crisis he had been suffering for years
