We don’t need more credentials, especially since very few know what credentials we have stand for. Unfortunately with threats to higher education, more places will need to consolidate most likely.

Library conferences on BlueSky A list of library and information science conferences, with links to their hashtags on the social media platform BlueSky.

Exciting news - I have actually updated the Library Conferences on BlueSky page, and it now has current and previous 2026 sections! Lots to do to add in events I have noted in screenshots and saved emails, but good progress.

7/ In reality, my colleagues still inside NIH tell me that their assessments are largely ignored.

Once a grant or application is picked up by the tool, they are almost never able to move the grant forward as is - regardless of the scientific justification.

The JBI logo appears in the bottom right, bold white text reads “Methodology Month” on a rounded blue banner, set against a dark blue background with abstract connected lines and nodes representing diverse methodologies grounded in shared principles, forming clear, systematic pathways that guide users step by step to rigorous, transparent, and trustworthy evidence syntheses. The JBI logo depicts a pebble (‘evidence’) dropping into water, symbolising the ripple effect of positive change driven by evidence.

🔥 Hot tip! Before starting a systematic review, make sure an information scientist/research librarian is part of the review team. They have specialised skills to develop & implement a comprehensive search strategy 🔎

So, the HR Manager at #SLV used to work for TAB, a large Australian gambling company (responsible for destroying many lives). The #SLV is being dismantled before our very eyes. #medlibs #ALIA

Dozens of CDC databases are not being updated — most related to vaccines, study finds The agency plays a key role in tracking disease spread and vaccination rates. Last year, it seemed to back away from some of that work, according to new research.

1/"...at the start of 2025, the CDC maintained 82 databases that were updated at least monthly. But by the end of October, the study found, 38 had gone stale, with 34 showing no new entries at all in the previous six months." #medlibs
