I feel that in a world when books are banned, voices are silenced, and change is rampant, being aware of the world is very important. I made a reading challenge on #storygraph to try to help with this. Any recommendations are welcome!

I donβt know about you, but the sheer desire to live off the grid on my own homestead has a death grip on my soul
I never got to read it in high school because I was in Dual Credit. My husband did, and he hated it because he felt it was boring. I do this assignment all the time with whatever book we are reading (like The Crucible, etc). This is my 2nd year doing it for Gatsby. Iβm in the greater Houston area.
I'm a fan of the Empyrean Series, but not a "read Onyx Storm in the first week" fan.
That said, if you post blatant spoilers in the next month, I hope the cap falls off your salt shaker at the most inopportune moment.

I teach it! I always have my kids pick their client to defend in Lit Court (the suspects are Tom, Daisy, Myrtle, Nick, Wilson, or Gatsby) against the charge of liability and back up their arguments with text evidence and historical research about the 20s. Itβs so much fun!
Soβ¦I switched to all organic beans to auto drip in the morning in an effort to drag myself out of bed to not waste money. Iβve ruined myself. I canβt go back to the cheap stuff. I discovered what coffee is supposed to taste like.

For TOD, I had to keep a character map to keep up with all of the characters
Serpent and the Wings of Night by Carissa Broadbent! Itβs on KU, and Iβve been thinking about it for months after I read it! The second book, Ashes and the Star Cursed King is on KU, too! Iβm halfway, and itβs great!
