There are so many actions against trans people right now that it’s hard to keep track, but this one could have major consequences moving forward.

The EEOC’s decision to no longer pursue employment gender identity discrimination cases not only flies in face of a Supreme Court decision but rests on a dangerous idea: that trans people are not real.
Talking about the SAVE Act and how voter discrimination hurts all women, not just trans women, on The Joy Reid Show. Because the goal is actually to exclude anyone who disagrees with those currently in power. Thanks for listening and keeping it real, @joyannreid.bsky.social! 💜
Summer mode activated! 😎

I am participating in Glisten’s Day of Silence to stand in solidarity with LGBTQIA+ students to raise awareness about bullying and harassment including from the governmental entities designed to protect them.
I just told a team member to hold off on publishing a piece for tomorrow because the president might drop a nuke on Iran tonight, and such a catastrophe is all that people would want to talk about. I can’t believe that we’re actually here.
Talk about it Imara! Well said! Separately, great commentary on the Joy Reid Show podcast. Keep it up!
Thank you!
The impact of what she has done will impact countless lives for years to come.
Pam Bondi is out of a job! Now most of media is focused on her Epstein file legacy. However few people are discussing her role in weaponizing the law enforcement system, first in Florida and then nationwide, against trans people.

"Conversion therapy is a Holy Grail for the right-wing because it advances the idea that queer people aren’t real. Because if being transgender can be cured, then transgender people are not worthy of recognition by society."

It is not therapy. It is not free speech. It is torture.
As I wrote for @msnewsdesk.bsky.social, the Supreme Court ruling on conversion therapy “did more than revive a discredited practice that harms children. It advanced a broader project: erasing transgender people from public life.” Check out my piece and let me know what you think. #SCOTUS
Still thinking about this past weekend’s #TransDayOfVisibility celebration in Chattanooga, TN! I met so many inspiring individuals including St. Jude, Chen, and Calaghan, who I interviewed below.
It’s not just biased and non factual reporting on stories but an executive led structural bias and policy see @imarajones.bsky.social excellent reporting years ago on subject

Creativity is a form of resistance because it makes erasure impossible. It was an honor to share space with you all! 🏳️⚧️
I had a blast giving the keynote for the Chattanooga Trans Day of Visibility celebration with Chattanooga Queer Empowerment, Chattanooga Pride, and Trans Liberation Collective. Forgot to send the caption!
Even in the state which has passed the most anti-trans legislation of any state, trans people are thriving in community. Thankful to have been at Chattanooga, TN’s Trans Day of Visibilty celebration! @translash.org was proud to serve as a sponsor.
We don’t know what the future holds so keep building the future you want.

The decision by International Olympic Committee is disappointing, but not a surprise. The Anti-Trans Hate Machine has scored its latest victory, but we’ve got more fight left in us. Read my thoughts on the announcement below.
Despite the years of evidence that trans people have no discernible advantage in sports competition, the Anti-Trans Hate Machine has scored its latest victory in the IOC’s decision to ban trans women from competing equitably in sports.
The decision by the International Olympic Committee is disappointing but not a surprise. Christian Nationalist and authoritarian forces have spent the last decade waging a campaign to convince the world that trans people don’t belong in sports and array of other public spaces.
