En Garde is excellent. It's like the best bits of Dark Messiah, but the whole game, and it really leans into the slapstick comedy of it all. But I love the colours and feel of playing it. Here's one of my favourite clips I took a few years back:

That looks lovely hahaha
I was only saying the same thing to a colleague the other day. We still have a dumb TV and I hope it never breaks!
I missed the boat back in the day and wondered whether it still holds up if you hadn't played it.
I've been rinsing Screamer over the last week or two and I feel this thread in my bones.
Amazing to see Babbdi, Bernband and the Outer Wilds DLC on here! And I love the write-ups for the Subnautica and Portal entries.
My favourite genre.

There are few things more satisfying than solving a puzzle when you're nowhere near it.
My painting for Dylan Sanchez's terrific new novel, Garden of Order: Legends--out now!!
OGNYEN PLAMEN - SIGHT TREMENDOUS AND ABHORRED The front cover depicts a woman’s smiling face. She’s wearing triangular sunglasses and there’s a strange flying death machine superimposed over everything.
A dystopian sci-fi actioner novella (~36k words).

🧵The Covid Inquiry’s latest reports have made one thing brutally clear: the first year of the pandemic - and especially the second Covid wave in winter 2020/21 - was devastating.
Much of that devastation was avoidable.
This 🧵: impact on NHS, impact on bereaved, and avoidable harm. 1/19

Seeing the staff holding a huge mouth open while it slowly buckles and crunches down with you in there is some really cool boss design.
With his next game out in a couple weeks, a little shoutout to Mommy's Best Games - aka one-man studio Nathan Fouts.

Ever since the start of the indie boom, he's been keeping it powerfully, consistently weird, both visually and mechanically. Love that energy.
Yeah it reminded me of Shadow of the Beast (especially the Roger Dean-esque art), Turrican and Bionic Commando. I was really surprised by how satisfying it all felt, particularly the versatility of the chainstaff itself.

I think this was the first one we ever bought!
Genuinely one of the cleverest puzzle games I've played, difficult in just the right ways
I know what you mean! I remember the jump from Freehand to Illustrator being rough and now I'm so used to Illustrator that Affinity does feel awkward. I've not used it but what about Graphic (www.graphic.com)?
Probably a good time to repost a bunch of games that reject photorealism in favor of a more hand-crafted, stylized and tonal immersion.

Love Cosmo D's work. My favourite memory from Club Low was breaking into the CCTV room, getting rumbled by the security guard, fighting him and getting whipped, then convincing him I was from IT.
It looks unique and good in a way I do not have words for.

It's honestly difficult to think of anything that GenAI could usefully do for me re: the channel. The closest thing would be video editing I guess. Finding and inserting clips can be fairly boring, and theoretically AI that could do that might save time on what is largely "drudge" work -
