So much false equivalence in media on gerrymandering in Texas vs California & Virginia. California and Virginia maps approved by the voters. That's a huge difference not enough people pointing out

Decision Desk HQ projects the VA Congressional Redistricting Referendum will Pass.
While No currently has the lead, based on the location and size of the remaining vote, Yes will take the lead as soon as the remaining counties report.

Kornacki talking about Loudon county, saying the numbers coming in are "absolutely disastrous" for the no side is my love language.
It sure sounds like he's seen enough (but it's too early overall obviously)
its viewership is minimal. its commitment to local, "unbiased" news is dubious at best. it may be the most important cable news channel in the country, thanks to its powerful parent company, Nexstar. my behind-the-scenes look at NewsNation, an exemplar of how the TV industry actually works in 2026:
we all know I have no life, so:
Yes, I knew this because back then, I would watch Days of Our Lives on tape with my mom, and at the end of the show, the credits would have A Coca-Cola Company under the Columbia Pictures Television logo. Several other CPT shows, too. This is what we saw: youtu.be/_Ni4heJMwoY?...
(To be clear, I'm actually not opposed to CNN doing political humor. "Have I Got News for You" is the only show I watch from the network, and Mark Russell's PBS comedy specials were regular viewing for me. Is this the right comic/special? Dunno. But "CNN is A Joke" is a play on "Netflix is a Joke")
CNN TO AIR AMERICA LAUGHS WITH MATT FRIEND - A CNN POLITICAL COMEDY SPECIAL FRIDAY APRIL 24 AT 11PM ET ON CNN AND STREAMING IN THE CNN APP A CNN POLITICAL COMEDY SPECIAL America Laughs WITH MATT FRIEND
CNN is a Joke.
Wonder whatever happened to this show? youtu.be/PcvprvorE64?...
Now, see, if you were rebooting FOREVER KNIGHT, I'd be there. (I had to Google "Gabriel Knight," and wow, I really did give up all new video games released after The Simpsons game came out in 1991, didn't I?)
But the voice cast for the video game is amazing....
This Saturday may be the most embarrassing moment in the history of the White House press corps. I’ll be talking about this all week. Here are my thoughts today. Full show: open.substack.com/pub/jimacost...
While Bart complains about this "high concept" ad, this is one reason I miss the old TV Guide. They were compact and cozy as well as a great outlet for creativity from networks, graphic designers, and artists alike.
I miss that.
Oh, wow, I totally didn't remember that it was a half-hour. Ugh. Feels like the same logic that turns 21 Jump Street, et al, into comedic movies.
GAH might be harder to do in a post-Marvel TV era, since several of their shows have been about "regular" folks becoming heroes.
Due South was also very fun and Blue Sky TV before USA Net
you and @megfitz89.bsky.social both have impeccable taste. I don't watch/care about all the shows on your lists, but some sort of update on Scarecrow, Voyagers and Greatest American Hero would be awesome. (I think ABC tried to reboot GAH at some point recently?) But all three are great ideas.
Yup. Especially on weekends, I try to check news/social media as little as possible.
We really are stuck in a media doom loop, or as Bill puts it: “Lather, rinse, repeat.”
This really captures life in 2026–or at least the part about Trump gets dealt with by Washington and covered by the press.
Submitted for your approval (and pre-orders)….
And also, no, WaPo, I don’t think this is the main reason why some folks on the left are skeptical of Platner. I think there’s the whole Nazi tattoo thing and some of the podcasts he’s been on that rank a little higher on the concern meter
I get why folks are skeptical post-Fetterman and with Platner. But this type of story is just the Post doing both sides nonsense, trying to make Dems sound like hypocrites for criticizing far, far worse posts by GOP officials. It’s not real investigative journalism or even thoughtful analysis
This WaPo story by Dan Merica (red flag #1) starts out by saying the Post “obtained” these posts but that they’d previously been reported by a blog. What it doesn’t say: the blog reported this last August.
Josh Shapiro and Bernie and Working Fam all endorsed him after that. This is very old news
Your review of MARGO in ABW is what got me to press play. I agree Imperfect is not in the same category as Margo, or even YF&N. But to me the silliness is a feature, not a bug. Totally skippable, though.
And equal time for DYNASTY fans: youtu.be/9ZKwVfMJJpo?...
For the soaps fans: The women of KNOT’S LANDING hand out some Emmys in the 80s. youtu.be/Aw1SQKuxL7I?...
He’s an icon, for sure
did you meet her halfway.... and ask her what she thought of the film?
Over the Top feels like a movie that played on HBO/SHO and then basic cable 5000 times in the late 80s and 90s. It was a box office dud, so the studio probably licensed it for cheap, whereas Rambo and (especially) the Rocky films were monster hits and likely aired less on TV (they were events)
I'd forgotten but yup, Kenny Loggins' underrated tune was indeed from the original motion picture soundtrack for OVER THE TOP (1987).
