Great question from @hannes.muehleisen.org about aligning the semantics across these diverse libraries, and thankfully there is some concerted effort from the community to align types going forward but really takes a lot of collaboration and cross dialogue.

When we started @coginiti.co one of the founding assumptions is that we needed to be able to run anywhere whether that was on premise, cloud, air gapped, and scale from single to thousands of users. People thought we were crazy not building pure SaaS, but our choice enabled fast traction.

2 years ago I inherited a team that was having each vendor (over 100!) run their own SFTP and we'd upload data dumps nightly.
We shifted to using S3 with AWS transfer family gateway and migrated everyone over. The whole setup is insanely simple and scalability is awesome!
I wonder if it actually makes sense for @bsky.app to make all public data available as parquet in R2. Would save everyone else doing the same and hitting their APIs...
It's a rich space. Sounds similar to @djpardis.com product @generalfolders.com
