Sorry for the multi-post I just like this movie

At the end of the day, I'm just amazed that Toriyama watched those Broly films, only took the barest minimum he could get away with, and just wrote a story about an abuse survivor finding people who actually care. And the action is more kickass than all three of the OG Broly films combined.
How well that background ties into that story is debatable. I can see thematic stuff going on with the idea of how fathers raise their sons and how that influences the way they grow, but that read also depends a lot on the King Vegeta and Paraguas stuff that the film added.
For the Minus section, I definitely prefer the Bardock special and dislike the Minus manga, but at the same time I think the film adaptation elevated it a bit. Music and voice acting do a lot of heavy lifting, but I also feel like it works better as background to a larger story than its own thing.
I love that Toriyama was able to take what was a pretty shallow villain and actually make a compelling character out of him. I also think this film genuinely has some of the best action animation I've ever seen. The Onishi cut in particular sticks in my mind.

Made a video discussing the anniversary and the house situation.

I know this is a joke, but I would legit buy a European Bluray if it were true
Generally I'm pretty okay and even happy with how they've been bringing certain things forward, though I do have mixed feelings on some of of the early reveals at the very end. But yeah, other than a few nitpicks, I think they nailed it. Can't wait for Season 3!
OPLA Season 2 done. The show continues to be a blast, and overall I think it's a huge improvement over the already pretty great Season 1. I do think the final battle suffers a bit compared to Season 1's, but the show still hit all the important story and emotional beats just right.
AAAAAAAGHHHHHHHH
13 episodes. 16mm film scans. Native HD. How such a milestone anniversary SHOULD be celebrated.
I just can't anymore
A fabricated statement from Nintendo of America's Twitter account addressing a fictitious scenario in which the Earth's oxygen supply is presumed to be depleting at a rapid pace, leaving humanity with mere days to live. "This is Miyamoto. On behalf of everyone who is employed at Nintendo Co. LTD and its subsidiaries, we deeply mourn the countless human lives which will be lost due to the depletion of the global oxygen supply. To anyone who has ever played one of our games, we are eternally grateful to have created long-lasting fun and memories for you. To ease the suffering of families and children across the world, the Mario Kart World game for the Nintendo Switch 2 system will be available as a free download on Nintendo eShop for the foreseeable future. We hope this small gesture of kindness will ease the pain as humanity prepares for a worst-case scenario." The statement is distastefully plastered with logos for Nintendo and Nintendo Switch 2, as well as with a render of Mario from Mario Kart World.
A fabricated Twitter thread responding to the fabricated Nintendo statement. John Default Profile Picture: "No one read this statement and thought it was distasteful? Why did Miyamoto think this would help anyone?" NintenDeen: "Simple: Nintendo is so depraved that they'd exploit a global crisis to boost the player count of the failed Mario Kart World and force consumers back into the Switch 2 ecosystem to boost sales and player numbers."
A fabricated Twitter thread responding to the fabricated Nintendo statement. PlayStation Nation: "What the fuck are you doing falsely advertising sales during these trying times? I went to the website and Mario Kart World is still selling for $80 USD." Kremling Kevin: "If you actually read the statement, it clearly says the discount is available on Nintendo eShop. Meaning the application on the Switch 2 itself, not the web browser version." PlayStation Nation: "Point still stands."
A fabricated Tweet responding to the fabricated Nintendo statement. Isaboner: "Nothing for Switch 1 owners?"
Had a dream that there was global panic about the world running out of oxygen, Nintendo was the only video game company to make a statement about it, and the internet collectively spent its final hours on Earth debating whether Nintendo was being genuine or not
people want a Zelda movie to be "what if Ocarina of Time was LotR" when what it should be is an 80-minute anime OVA released in the early 90's with the weirdest plot you've ever seen and at least one original character who was so endearing that it physically hurts they aren't in any of the games
I'm also pretty sure an animated film would be the only way we'd get a lefty Link

Denaturalization as criminal punishment is not a thing in American law, it's unconstitutional under any circumstances. It can only be done in the narrow case of somebody who fraudulently obtained the naturalization itself. Otherwise they are no different from natural-born citizens who commit crimes.
As Oliver Hardy would say, "Another fine mess".... as Trump is trying to not just void the 17th Amendment, but seeks to bypass ratifying the change by the voters approving this by vote in each state. Otherwise he's not got time to pass it in Congress to be voted on by each state before November

A commenter on my Dragonball Evolution video, saying, "7:32 "Brief" is her father's name, not her family name". I reply, "You must be new to Dragon Ball Dissection because I've been telling people exactly that for over a decade. HOWEVER, the character in this specific movie is named Bulma Briefs. She literally introduces herself that way."
For 14 years I've gotten hate comments in Dragon Ball Dissection for not reviewing the dub and not using its nomenclature. I do *one* episode where I talk specifically about Dragonball Evolution and use its terminology only to get "corrected" for it too. I've found my no-win scenario! 🤣
In light of this announcement, I am re-pasting from the old place:

A mutual aid organizer in Minneapolis told us that Ilhan Omar pops in to help with the foodbank.
No press, no photos, she just shows up and asks the organizers where she should pitch in.
This is heartbreaking. His performances as Boo's different forms have always been thoroughly fantastic. I'm sure he would've been just as stellar in the Moro anime.
My heart goes out it you and your loved ones, Shioya-san. I hope you rest well.
