It was tragic circumstances, but how did it never occur to these people that maybe the way through it was grieving together, not leaving a child with NO coping skills to navigate that on his own.

Especially when his mother showed she was willing to sacrifice herself for him. Like you couldn't even honor that??
And his aunt was already on my shit list for smacking him simply bc he was behaving like children behave. Fuck her times two for that.
I'm watching A Shoulder to Cry On again since it's getting a season 2, and can I just say ... Fuck Tae-Hyeon's father & aunt. I understand the distress and grief of losing your sibling or partner, but to treat an 7/8 YEAR OLD like it was their fault. To give him no comfort in all of this??
coupled with how we see Pob acting in the flashback to meeting Solar, their life together in the current day, & Pob's almost kind of weaponized but incompetence. But it's all connected, & trauma. I might talk more about it if I find the words.
Love and romance and the stories from that exist in a lot of different places, & I'm always excited to see ones that give a glimpse of something new. It's why something like Only Friends is so special.
Last note: I can't really articulate my feelings about what we learn about Pob & Jee's history
an established couple from ep. 1 without that trope. Maybe Papa & Daddy (which you should watch), but that's it. (Please tell me if you know of more.) I feel like just as we need romances that span many age groups/life stages, there's value in romances that span different stages of relationships.
I will say one of the things I was pretty excited to see was a romance where the main couple is already together in ep. 1. I understand why that's not the norm, & often the amnesia trope is used to give a way for the couple to fall in love a second time, which is why I can't think of many that have
difficult situation. I will say tho that the clear choice to not call his doctors is absolutely crazy. As soon as Pob realized the problem he should have called, & he's definitely asking for trouble if he keeps trying to hide it. Hopefully Solar's mom will return & have some sense fairly quickly.
of his brain injury causing age regression. It's definitely not something they should keep from him IMO, but I can see Pob making the choice to live in the small moments he has with Solar, bc ppl don't make perfect choices. Doesn't make him a bad person, just one struggling to handle a very
I want to see how Perth handles that as an actor. Even in this episode, you see some pretty intense vulnerability from him, but they also make it clear how heavily he relies on Solar for sort of emotional stability. I'm especially interested to see if adult Solar is going to be aware
But I do think the decision to make the regression inconsistent is an interesting one bc it does jack up the drama and emotional stakes quite a bit. This almost torture of giving Pob these small little morsels of their life together & taking them back is pretty diabolical, &
I don't disagree that the potential was there, tho I did feel the trailer made it clear that his regression was sporadic & inconsistent & that Pob only saw Solar in a sexual way when he was clearly in his adult mind. But still, those are valid concerns & I have them also.
amnesia, but also bc Solar's age regression seems intended to be sporadic based on the trailers, & it's hinted in the final moments of this ep. I know quite a few ppl were worried about how all of this would be handled, as they seemed concerned as it seemed to dance on the edge of certain kinks.
I'm also very interested to see how the storyline is handled as we move forward. The amnesia-esque storyline is one we've seen many times before & while I can & have liked the direction the ones I've watched have gone (TBNW, Naughty Babe, Love Syndrome 3) it's different here bc it's not exactly
They both excel at drama, & we got a bit of comedy in P10L, but this story seems intended to have a lot more of a sitcom comedic feel even with the very dramatic backdrop of Solar's injury. And comedy is hard. Sammy makes it look easy bc she's one of the best, but it's not easy.
Was able to finally watch ep 1 of #LoveYouTeacher & it has me very intrigued. Spoilers in the thread, but I wanted to ramble about it for a bit.
To start, I love Perth & Santa, both separately & as a pair. I think they're fantastic actors & I was really excited to see them in this show.

I'm watching Baywatch bc why not, but for the show wanting us to believe Mitch & Craig are good men, it's weird that in 14 episodes they introduce 2 old friends that are trash ppl. Like....why is every old friend they have terrible ppl?
I don't want to be mean, but the idea SKZ changed the SONG CHOICES due to Lino's injury is crazy. The songs would have been picked months ago, the remixes & choreo would have been finalized weeks ago. None of this shit happens at the drop of a hat.

I get wanting an artist you like to hit big milestones, but I'm also gonna buy stuff where it's convenient for me. And I guess my main issue is ppl either being upset bc they didn't know the shop they bought from "won't count" or worse, ppl being shitty at others who bought from the "wrong" store.
Off topic for this acct, but SKZ is having a comeback, preorders started yesterday & my whole timeline right now on Twit is filled w/ppl talking about which stores report to billboard or hanteo for the purposes of charting and like, yeah charting is cool, but also this focus on numbers is π¬π¬π¬.
It's almost more that the 'kids' are fighting against the older generations, than really against each other.
I will say tho that voting for a gov't figure using an app like this is American idol is kinda nuts.
That's all for now.
Certainly had a much more empathetic villain origin story than most villains in recent media.
I will say tho, I think one thing I do like a lot about the series is that the other contestants aren't bad. They all want to be good rulers. They have empathy & character.
I'm now officially so torn bc Chakri did not deserve that. I have loved him since the trailer so I'm kinda pissed, but Wasin had good points & clearly trusting the other royal families to do the right thing bc it's right didn't work, so like what else can he do but bc the villain.
Catching up on #TheNextPrince ...aside from the attempted murder, I think I'm on Prince Wasin's side.
Update, I have finished Ahsoka and I thought it was very good and yes I did very when Hera and Ezra reunited.
Like I just wonder if my expectation is too high...maybe. Idk. But I do like Sabine, Ezra, and Jacen. I think they're doing a wonderful job. Thrawn feels right and looks wrong. idk how else to explain that.
