Nobody tells you what happens to your hair on Ozempic. Three months in, your shower drain looks like it's housing a small animal.

This is Telogen effluvium & any body shock does this: crash diets, divorce, bereavement.

Here's my free guide on what rapid change does: https://nikolahoward.uk/wcftm

I'm Nikola Howard, Life Alchemist. I'm a metabolic health coach that spent 20+ years in IT before I turned my systems brain on the real problem; why brilliant women keep failing at plans that were never built for them.

"Calories in = calories out" - simple, elegant, wrong.
Why do I think that? Experiments on dogs in 1896 to prove the 1st law did prove it, yet your body isn't a calorimeter. It adapts.

This is the 2nd Law - the bit CICO Bros ignore:

333,687 people in a GLP-1 study - 50% stopped taking them shortly after starting because of the cost, in money & side effects

And naturally, they saw the benefits reverse almost immediately

Pharma isn't building an offramp.... so I created this free guide to help: https://nikolahoward.uk/wcftm

Perimenopause isn't a diagnosis. It's a full stop.

Your GP says "you're perimenopausal" and closes the file.
Rather than testing insulin resistance, cortisol, thyroid, or fasting insulin

The things actually driving your symptoms? Ignored.
You really deserve better than a label and a leaflet...

Your GP has only 10 minutes with you for everything

Not because they don't care, because that's what the overloaded system permits
And the new contract adds even more tasks

That's why understanding your own health matters now more than ever
You need to know what to ask before the timer runs out

9 years for an endometriosis diagnosis in the UK. 11 if you're a woman of colour.

The women who get answers fastest?
They stop waiting to be fixed and start learning how their body works.

You can't easily replace your GP. But you can show up with the right questions.

I'm not anti-medication. Never have been. Some women genuinely need it.
My problem? The absence of everything that should come with it.

A prescription without education is just a subscription.

If you need GLP-1, take it. With a plan. Let's build one.

Your brain fog isn't ageing. It's your metabolism writing a twenty-year script.
New UK Biobank research shows Alzheimer's is a disease of midlife, where post-meal glucose spikes are linked to a 69% increased risk of Alzheimer’s disease.

And for women, this also lines up with menopause... ☹️

7 hours 18 minutes of sleep. That's the sweet spot for insulin resistance, per BMJ study of 25,000 people.

Not 8. Not 5.

Your body has a number. Most people have never been told it. Set your alarm tonight.

See what happens. Then tell me.

The NYT just published what I've been saying for 26 years: what you eat changes how your brain works.

Harvard, Oxford, East London—all researching metabolic psychiatry now.

You already know food affects how you feel. You've just never had anyone explain why.

That's what I do

In the US, 3 unreported deaths whilst on semaglutide. The FDA called it "serious violations." Same company suspended by UK regulators for hiding £7.8m in payments to GPs.

GLP-1 Agonist have a very valid role to play, yet your body deserves better than this.
Ask me what the alternative looks like.

Your body already makes the hormone that costs £200/month to inject.
You just need to eat in a way that lets it do its job.

A 600-cal omelette keeps you full for hours.
A 600-cal Frappuccino leaves you hungry in 20 minutes.

Same calories. Different outcome.

DM me.

The "addicted to dopamine" thing is just shorthand though...

Nobody means the molecule itself.
They mean behaviours that spike it: slots, sugar, scrolling.
The hit becomes the habit.
Same circuit, different trigger. That's the actual mechanism.
(Though I do love a good semantic hill to die on)

Your insulin levels right now are predicting your menopause.
A Feb 2026 study shows insulin measured early in perimenopause predicts hot flashes years ahead.

Not random. Predictable.

Let's talk before it arrives.

The government's just allocated funds for weight loss drugs for women and has told platforms to stop suppressing women's health content.

95% of UK women's health businesses say they're shadowbanned.
Parliament documented it (Pg 28 of the Women and Equalities Committee's 12th report)

Keep talking!

Why Hustle Culture Doesn’t Work for Women | Nikola Howard What if the reason hustle culture feels so hard… is because it was never designed for women in the first place? At Higher Voltage 2026, we sat down with Nicol…

"Hustle Culture can get in the bin!"
I didn't know that @YourVideoTeam were planning on releasing the mini-podcast we did at @HigherVoltage in January - it's just for, here it is!

A bloke on Threads opined
"You can't lose weight without a calorie deficit.
Likewise, you can't be in a calorie deficit and not lose weight."

This breaks the second law of thermodynamics. Your body isn't a bomb calorimeter.
Protein, carbs & fat have different pathways, different energy outcomes.

English GPs will soon be paid £3k a year to prescribe weight loss jabs.
It's in the NHS England 2026/27 contract.

Remember dentistry and statins? We've seen this playbook before...

Yes, the jab suppresses appetite but it doesn't fix the system underneath.

Ask me how I know this matters.

Brain fog at 3pm isn't stress. It's not age. It's your metabolism.

Your brain uses 20% of your energy—and insulin resistance quietly starves it. Harvard, Stanford, and the Royal College of Psychiatry are all saying it now.

This isn't fringe. It's science. Let's talk about what's really going on.

I spent 3 months obsessing over purple tiles.
Cos my brain does not do “that’ll do.” It does “but why?”

Turns out that same obsession built my metabolic health programme 26 years ago.

Now Swiss Re just launched it at scale. Data-backed. Business-critical.

If you’re running on fumes, let’s talk

94%. That’s what Swiss Re found in long-term disability claims. High BMI & Mental health diagnosis

The maths says metabolism & mood are one system

I been saying this for 26 years. Stop blaming yourself. Look underneath. The insurers already have and the data is clear

Message me, let's handle this

BMJ study: GLP-1 users regain weight 4x faster than low-fat dieters after stopping.
Because there's usually no exit strategy.

Know this, your body already makes GLP-1 naturally.
You simply need a plan to leverage it, forever.

What's your biggest question about life after GLP-1?

I analysed 47 clients (women business owners with chronic conditions) over 7 years.

The ones who hit £200K+ built their business around their energy, not against it.

Your chronic condition isn't the problem, ignoring it as a design constraint is.

Which group do you recognise yourself in? DM me

I caught myself building a breakfast flowchart in my head to explain why I can't "eat normally" to my chap.

35 years in IT will do that!

Your metabolism isn't a mystery - it's a system with logic.

What health thing has never made sense to you, no matter how many times someone explained it? 💜

The secret to metabolic health? Stop looking for secrets.
Real food, movement, sleep, stress management, sunshine, water, community, time, consistency.

New research proves it: yo-yo dieting isn't your failure, it's metabolic self-preservation.

Your body protects itself from restriction by slowing down.

The problem isn't you—it's treating a systems problem with willpower.

What's your biggest question about sustainable metabolic health?

That 3pm crash isn't willpower.
It's your breakfast spiking insulin and crashing you 3 hours later.

Sarah swapped porridge for eggs. Three days. Crash gone.

Your body isn't broken. Your approach is.
