NTIL RECENTLY, I resisted using the F-word to describe President Trump. For one thing, there were too many elements of classical fascism that didn't seem to fit. For another, the term has been overused to the point of meaninglessness, especially by left-leaning types who call you a fascist if you oppose abortion or affirmative action.

seems like the kind of piece that should contain an acknowledgement that other people saw what this guy missed but no that isn't how establishment media types roll so it's just open contempt for people who saw clearly when he did not. welcome to the party, you don't have to be a dick about it.

The Constitution has failed, whether people want to admit it or not. This isn't meant as doomerism, it's meant to urge us to be clear-eyed and honest about where we are. We're living one--but only one--vision of what replaces that previous constitutional order. (1/5)

Setting up your profile - Mastodon documentation Get started with your new account.

I think it’s Mastodon only, but I’m not sure, and I’m not an expert:
docs.joinmastodon.org/user/profile...

I don’t prefer it and it doesn’t really achieve what atproto can with domain based identity linking, but it’s still nice to have, and a good tool to have in the toolbox.

That being said that separation is something I see people talk about often as a reason they dislike the Fediverse and my take is it’s basically “not especially concerning to me given how the web has always worked.”

That’s probably a tangent that didn’t belong in this post if I’m honest.

6 months ago 0 0 1 0

This is definitely the case of me not really separating my thoughts well in the post.

I don’t view the separation as a strength on the Fediverse, and I do see the domain as your handle and the choice to use a single identity as the biggest upside to atproto.
