Please keep in mind that you don't need to expose yourself to horrors to be witness to history; it doesn't help anyone for you to be traumatized.

Me: I already have way too many projects on the go and have had to back out on a couple commitments I've made.

Also me: This is a good time to learn Traveller.

It's kinda fucked up how they just let you google "piles of teeth" without even trying to stop you

I think a difficulty that people have had since gamergate is that someone can be profoundly harassed in an unfair and life threatening way that also intersects with bigoted harassment based on the person’s marginalization, and that harassed party can also just, not really be a good person

The cover of Dragon Magazine 150 (October 1989).

The cover of Dragon Magazine 150 (October 1989).

When October rolls around, I always think of this 1989 Dragon Magazine cover by Larry Elmore.

Even the issue's "About the Cover" blurb is evocative: "Somewhere in the hills of western Kentucky, a witch and her familiar check up on a scarecrow that guards her domain."

It's canon that even short pants touch his feet, and that's not even the worst thing wrong with that grotesque abomination.

Dems have spent a stunning amount of time wooing folks who don’t care .. losing folks who do, and treating the up and coming like children who owe them rather than necessary partners

Imagining/hoping that the takeaway from Banned Books Week won’t be “only 11 ppl are behind most book challenges?” but that despite how unpopular book bans are there is also an accelerating mission to destroy public libraries as an institution

Huffpost Screenshot:

There’s been a debate raging on Urban Dictionary since 2004 about a particular Sisqó lyric: “dumps like a truck.” What does it mean? There seem to be two leading camps on the subject. One believes the phrase is synonymous with “junk in the trunk,” i.e. a big ass. The other (what you might call the underdog camp) is convinced the turn of phrase is an expression for taking a large, truck-sized dump; a term used to describe a lady who drops a hefty deuce. I raised these two options to Sisqó.

This is what the internet used to be and we destroyed it.
