‘It’s a powder keg’: Romania leads EU measles cases as vaccination rates collapse Bottlenecks in the system and parent’s suspicions mean doctors expect another serious outbreak soon By 10am on a spring day, the corridor of the clinic in the Transylvanian town of Săcele was already crowded with parents and children. They were all waiting to see Dr Mirela Csabai, one of just seven general practitioners serving a population of more than 30,000. Most of the cases that morning were routine: colds, checkups, chronic conditions. The calm, however, is recent. In 2024, a measles epidemic tore through this community and left one unvaccinated toddler dead. Continue reading...

Zero arrests from 106 hit-and-runs on cyclists in London last year, as cycling campaigners slam "completely unacceptable" figures Alarming hit-and-run figures suggest there were zero arrests from 106 reported incidents involving a driver hitting a cyclist in London last year — the collisions resulting in just four prosecutions, ...

Nearly 160,000 uninsured cars seized on UK roads Seizure numbers hit a 17-year high as an estimated 300,000 uninsured vehicles are driven each day.

The stats here are horrific.
300,000 uninsured drivers on roads every day.
1 person affected every 20 minutes by an uninsured driver.
1 person a day left with life changing injuries every day by an uninsured driver.
Yet successive govts have failed to tackle this

After this many #drivingbans you have to say should this person ever be allowed to #drive again. Surely 3 bans and then a lifetime ban?

A hanging bike path bolted onto a railway bridge above the River IJssel.

The Hattem–Zwolle route runs 5.5km with no traffic lights, barely any crossings, and priority all the way.

This is what it looks like when cycling is built to rival the car - not as an afterthought, but by design.

For the first time ever, heat pumps outsold gas boilers in Germany in 2025.

48% of all new heating systems installed last year were heat pumps. Gas fell to just 39%. A decade ago, heat pumps had a 7% market share. The transformation has been remarkable.

We're on the verge of a genocidal, nuclear war that our supposed "ally" has said he's ready to unleash.

Would it be too much to ask for the Prime Minister to have something to say about it? Or do?

Suspend US bases on UK soil now.

I’m going to talk about digital advertising screens, which doesn’t sound exciting, but please bear with me.

Supporters of the exceptional hardship driving ban loophole should spend time hearing from bereaved families or seriously injured survivors of crashes caused by exceeding speed limits by a “few miles an hour”,

I strongly suspect they would change their minds. Breaking speed limits can be lethal.

Mark Lamarr gets driving ban despite hardship plea The comedian, 57, is banned from driving after being caught speeding in Twickenham.

The ban is right. I question where else repeated offending attracts mitigation like this. “Exceptional hardship” is lived daily by crash victims and bereaved families. My sympathy will always be with them—not the habitual road offender. Should we remove this provision?

Retail parks are more profitable for retailers because they are cheap sites which externalise the costs. We all pay for the huge road infrastructure serving them and the harms that arise from car-dependent society.
