Bluesky friends! I’m hunting for a copy of Amtrak’s "The National" magazine (2017) featuring the Cleveland food scene.
My friend shot the cover photo and met her husband because of that issue!
I’d love to gift it to her, since they no longer publish it. Can ya’ll help me find this issue? 🙏🏽

I mean, I was there but not the person you were interacting with in that screengrab. I was just an innocent bystander to that, lmao.
Kit Hareington saying in Alliance chat "But not too hard, or we'll force out the pee".
Kit Hareington out-of-context. xD
@feralkwe.bsky.social, lol, good to see you in that Frontline game lmao. Too bad we got our butts handed to us. :/
oof, I hope it passes soon
*internet hugs if welcomed*

Meanwhile I'm actively trying to move back, and it's damn tough. :/
A survey question asking "Which Recruiter/Recruiting Assistant did you work with?" I have entered "Indeed dot com," and received an error stating "Please choose an option from the dropdown menu."
Tried to take the survey they linked, but cannot. This question has no dropdown menu. It has a freetext box, and that's it.
Another rejection turned around in 4 hours, with the rejection letter being sent just before close-of-business Alaska time.
In years of job seeking I have never seen this, and now twice in a month? WTF is up?

Tangential but I have never seen a disclaimer like this before
Anecdata: I got pinged once today, and when I looked at the account that did it I saw that I had several moots with the account - specifically moots who aren't the type to follow those accounts. Suggests to me it might've been a hacked account, but idk what it was before it pinged me.
i am *still* struggling with having what i thought was a pretty pessimistic view of the competence of my fellow humans be revealed to be three orders of magnitude too generous.
Again.
FWIW Ive been noticing this for a while. Not just with reposts too, but also with likes.
It’s not “new,” and it definitely predates the current waves of bots.
a car is the only thing i have in the world. it needs to stay insured. please help.

Hey, friends, I need your help for a fellow indie author:
We're looking for someone who can provide a sensitivity read for a Mexican American character. The author wants general support in how the character and his family are portrayed in this contemporary romance. Paid, of course.
Thank you!
$25/$50 for my ongoing short goal, $300 total for the month of April.
PLEASE KEEP HELPING!

Hi I've decided I'm through trying to do what I love for work and instead would like to do a boring thing that pays me for work and do the things I love for the people I love
Gods same. I have a pinched ulnar nerve in my left arm. Causes two fingers in my left hand to be varying degrees of numb at any given time.
Problem? The type of work I’m looking for requires a lot of typing. And you would not believe how hard it is to type accurately when you can’t feel the keys.
Any ship can run a blockade.
Some ships can only run a blockade once.
As someone who's also worked with nonprofits (though surely not to the degree Rep. Holland has), yeah. I agree with this.
I will let you know, thanks! Getting anyone to give me the time of day from the lower 48 is damn near impossible.
Honestly, if your sister knows of anyone hiring, I wouldn't mind a point in the right direction either. No obligation, of course.
I used to go to the Diamond Center for Community Day in Pokemon GO.
Good people. Good times. Gods, I miss Alaska so much.
Haha, looking into Anchorage jobs, the GameStop at the Diamond Center is hiring a Store Manager.
I could actually do that. I've worked for GameStop before lmao.
And it sucks, bc I know lots of these jobs are actually hurting for people!
As ever, this would be much easier if I already lived there. But again, it's a case of "need work to get housing, need housing to get work."
Same vicious cycle that's been biting me in the ass over and over for the last few years.
FWIW I also looked into Anchorage, but there aren't many openings there either
Whole lotta healthcare professional jobs too. Lots of need for registered nurses, dialysis techs, etc.
Looking into further jobs in Juneau, Alaska if the one job I still have pending doesn't come through, and damn, there are A LOT of US Army jobs advertised.
Alas, for a few reasons I'm not suited for those.
Lucky Bancho just released his survey in prep for 7.5. I'll drop some samples below. In the just-under-two months since the last survey, the surveyed active population of: Golem contracted from 5,232 to 4,437, a reduction of just over 15%., Seraph contracted from 12,822 to 9,807, a reduction of around 23.5%. Note that Seraph lost Road to 90 in 7.4., , Dynamis (the whole DC combined) contracted from 55,652 to 46,365, a reduction of just under 17%., Excalibur contracted from 15,180 to 12,175, a reduction of right around 20%., Leviathan contracted from 14,417 to 11,240, a reduction of right around 22%., Primal (the whole DC combined) contracted from 118,970 to 94,030, a reduction of right around 21%., Jenova contracted from 15,907 to 12,568, a reduction of right around 21%., Sargatanas contracted from 15,880 to 13,647, a reduction of right around 14%., Aether (the whole DC combined) contracted from 127,239 to 103,506, a reduction of just over 18.5%., In general these are some big drops for a less-than-two-month window, though it's clear some places have been hit harder than others. Do with this info what you will.
This is the kind of thought process I'd bring to anyone willing to hire me.
Lots of job applications ask "how skilled are you at summarizing technical material for consumption by nonexperts," and I describe this sort of thing and then they just ghost me anyway.
FFS, someone hire me.
