The Ecstasy of an Open Brain As babies, our brains are open. As adults, our brains close. But what if we could reopen them? What a trip.

I might be late at sharing this, but I just listened to an interesting @radiolab.bsky.social episode exploring models of how ketamine & psychedelic drugs (when used in very specific contexts - this is crucial) could 'reset the brain' & may be clinically beneficial radiolab.org/podcast/the-...

There are many layers here, but I want to comment on one aspect of these findings for now--the editorial board representation. Some will see this and immediately think: we need to get more POC on our boards! I understand that impulse, but encourage you to think a few steps down the game tree 1/n.

How to be a multidisciplinary neuroscientist Neuroscience subfields are often siloed. Embracing an integrative approach during training can help change that.

A nice little article on collaborative science and bringing novel approaches to the lab. I mostly agree with it, but I do think it's probably easier to have a multidisciplinary lab if you are a more established faculty member.

First post here; I thought I'd post something not related to science. In my spare time, I'm a volunteer shepherd for Brighton (a 'lookerer') - here are our ponies :)
