I presented a petition at Cornwall Council this morning against the Council"s plan to resume widespread use of glyphosate, signed by 5,625 residents of Cornwall. A great many others were there to protest.
And thanks to a motion brought by our Green councillors, the plan has now been shelved!

Anyone supporting the Lib Dem calls for fuel duty cuts seriously needs to stop and think
British politicians can't be trusted with "emergency" fuel duty cuts: they're never brave enough to reverse them when fuel prices drop back to normal levels. They're also not brave enough to change how fuel duty works to make it stabilise prices. So that makes short term cuts unaffordable. Sorry.
I get the sentiment, but time and again it gets found that the companies simply use cuts like these as more headroom for raising prices. The consumer doesn't get the benefit, the public loses tax income, and shareholders get bumper dividends and buybacks.
Quick morning shout out to all the other freelancers who didn't even know it was the bank holiday, the whole concept having become utterly irrelevant to their lived experience.
