I swear that because he died at the beginning of 2016, that’s when everything went to hell.

I know antifa isn't a real organization because I don't get 40 texts a week from them asking for donations.

So good, I had to read it again right after reading it the first time. Love how it's constructed, and the sneaky bits in which the elder narrator comments on the scenes. I'm not explaining that well, but I do SO admire this story.

Oh, it’s definitely bad here. It’s just that LA is so spread out and DC is so compact!

It is bad here in LA but I think it’s worse for you and your city. I’m so sorry for you and everyone in DC

I’ve read and loved the two “We” books. And from the other list St Sebastian’s Abyss was weird and wonderful. And now I have more to read! Thanks!

ICE is the January 6 insurrectionists all over again. Only instead of attacking law enforcement, they are pretending to *be* law enforcement. And instead of just terrorizing at the Capitol, they are doing it EVERYWHERE.

i hope you were in the Huntington Library parking lot and not the Huntington Hospital lot. One is much more pleasant than the other.

“They were shooting down ships.” “They were eating the dogs.” He’s got this particular cadence that he likes. Sheer poetry. 🤪

it takes place in germany at the rise of naz*s. its a musical but all songs are sung by performers in a cabaret (no one bursts into song on the street). watch for the slow move from the freedom of the cabaret to the horror of what is to come.

They’ll pressure a NATO ally to release a sex trafficker and racketeer but they won’t pressure a tiny dictatorship to return a man it’s holding on our behalf, who they admit they sent there by accident

I remember that feeling. In 6th grade I was mad at a girl who said she was the biggest Beatles fan when clearly I was!

I like comedians when they are funny and I like comedians when their jokes make me cringe.
