It is but it’s not humorous. It’s kinda sad and brutal and lovely. Published in Yemasee in 2000. I put it on medium in 2014. I like it

It was supposed to be a Meredith. But it’s turned out to be a climbing variety I guess. Cuz Merediths are bushes and compact. Not this one!!
MeanCat sitting with me in the sun as I water his roses. He’s pleased.
Home. On time and in the sun. Out to the garden to talk to the roses & give them a drink. Bee-ey was so happy in one of the pinkish climbing roses that she did a little dance at the end. You can hear it.
I was a creative writing major in college. I once published a short story on a deaf woman who bought a CB radio. And I have no words to begin to describe the idiocy and insanity of this disgraceful president.
The climbing pink/white rose (climb-ey) has exploded. My new favorite. Cuz I do play favorites.
Anyone say long stem roses? Cuz these are four-feet tall.
Oh the potatoes
You might be right about American beauty. Those two were planted later. So I can’t say what they are!! I know we bought them as bare roots from Sam’s Club. Like the others (the others in the beds. The ones on the fence were already bushy). So I don’t know. Sorry. I am a doofus
They are Lincolns and “Oklahoma”.

She’s really good at it. And this is just the clippings we compost!
Clippings of the 20-plus roses Theresa pruned this afternoon. Most aren’t suitable for vases (they fall apart quickly) but some are perfect for vases
MeanCat now has a serpent because of course MeanCat has a serpent. He say it fits his image. Shed skin of a three-foot rat snake. Theresa has seen a larger one last year. They live under/near the pond. Intelligence reports indicate they work for MeanCat. I’m sure it’s fine.
First zinnia bloom of 2026. The first of perhaps seven billion or so.
Good morning indeed.

one of my favorite rem songs, and this version is from Live at the Olympia 2008, it curls my toes it’s so good
Not as big as this one!!!
This rose is on such a loooooong stem. And it’s being pinched by buds on either side. It’s a big rose.
Bee-ey was so happy
This is what I saw today in our garden.
Work. I was with our mayor. He’s close with the former VP.
Home. Long day. But I should be off tomorrow, hoping for no drama. I need to do school work. Which means I need to do lots of yard work & then do school work. But I am a bit weary for sure. Oh well. MeanCat greeted me on his porch. History’s most dependable monster.
Oh thank god the fake achievement lasted long enough for this corrupt & incompetent administration to make lots of money by manipulating the stock market, and long enough to brag about it, which for this administration is the same or better than actually accomplishing it.

Empty as a pocket with nothing to lose

Had been a cancellation from snow storm in February
Saw former VP Kamala Harris last night. Said hi. And I got to have a brief conversation with sublime Savannah chef & restaurateur Mashama Bailey, who founded & runs The Grey, one of the best restaurants in the US. (In an old greyhound bus station in downtown). She’s amazing
