This is today's item that is tickling my anger issues.
'People will think you're creepy and recoil from you, but at least the glasses look good and are great at shading your eyes from the sun' is quite the juxtaposition.
Apparently Alex Karp, CEO of EvilCorp, has posted an absolutely rambling, self-serving manifesto that, among other things, calls for mandatory military service and describes “software” as analogous to a marine’s gun.
That’s because they are war profiteers. That’s what SV is.

A quote from Albert Camus: He said, “In the midst of hate, I found there was, within me, an invincible love. In the midst of tears, I found there was, an invincible smile. In the midst of chaos, I found there was, within me, an invincible calm. I realized, through it all, that in the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer. And, that makes me happy. For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me, within me, there’s something stronger - something better, pushing right back.”
It is the communities we build that will truly matter. I belong to the Democratic Socialist of America. I support local organizations doing amazing work both environmentally and socially. If we come together, we can be the light. No contribution is too small.

I am honored to have received one of these awards to finish my book on Indigenous interventions in the archive. The humanities continue to be important and deserving of funding. #TalkAboutHumanities
NYC study shows men are 2.6x more likely than women to bike to work. When protected bike lane coverage is high, women’s cycling rates rise significantly faster than men’s.
When protected lanes are limited or fragmented, women’s participation drops sharply.
Good bike investments give women choices.
Please help us spread the word.
Reading matters
Why does fiction matter?
Because stories can sharpen the way we understand other people.
A meta-analysis found that reading fiction has a small but positive effect on social cognition. Including our ability to interpret emotions, motives, and inner lives.
