Finished 13 pages of my #screenplay thanks to some motivational words from #KatBarrell! Only 147 days to go until my deadline!

I took my break, but it was more like 45 days. But I'm back and I can't wait to share with you what's been happening on this end!

Hello there! I took a little break from social media to focus on my screenplay... and I'm getting closer and closer. My outline is done, I'm 8 pages into the screenplay and I actually feel like I could do what I said I was going to do back in September!

Oh! Also, I attended the Masterclass with Tim Sexton (Writing for Film & Television) and it was informative, but also made me realize that I've been "researching" how to write a screenplay for 27 years of my life - at what point am I going to just DO IT?

There's 243 days left until my deadline, and because I feel like I've used social media as a distraction when I'm feeling uncomfortable, fearful, or just don't wanna... I'm going to take a 30 day social media break. I hope, after those 30 days, I'll have a pitch, so I can start the actual work.

Why do I put SO MUCH pressure on myself? I mean, who writes a screenplay with some of their favorite actors in mind and it gets made? That's CRAZY!!! Right? #screenwriting #AmWriting

I've reached that point where I'm doubtful. Have I ever followed through with something like this? No, I get too scared and I say things like, "you're not good enough to do this; you're not talented enough..." I should just give up. *sigh* But I don't want to give up...

"Stop focusing so much on those women - who act like they care, and exclude you from things... when you have these others ones right here... who actually care about you." - my 13 year old daughter. Who knew I'd be getting advice from my teenager on how to make friends. ;)

My fiercest belief is also a theme that informs all of my writing and can be an act of rebellion in dark times: they may try, but nobody, and I mean nobody, can tell you who or what you really are.

This month - they just announced Filmmaker Masterclass: Parallel Storytelling with Tim Sexton!!!! I am BEYOND excited for this one! It's one thing to listen to an industry professional in the broad sense, but specifically in my focus excites me SO MUCH!

Last month I attended a Filmmaking Masterclass at @nwfilmforum.bsky.social! It was a DIRECTING masterclass, but I want to learn as much as I can from industry professionals, so that, as a writer I have a greater understanding of the dance... AND, I'm a nerd for filmmaking... that being said: (1/2)

I wrote a really emotional scene today around the theme. I was listening to an very informative and helpful episode of The Screenwriting Life Podcast and now knowing what the theme is, writing that scene where it's actually no longer subtext - felt incredible! #WeCanDoHardThings

I've become hypersensitive when writing Act Two now. I want to get it right, but more than that, I want to create optimal circumstances, as well as an atmosphere that breeds the best version of my characters, in order to carry out the theme of the story. THEY have a story to tell too! (2/2)

I've reached the dreaded ACT TWO, and everything "they" say is true - it's the meat and potatoes of your story. I'm overwhelmed by the thought of getting it right because I've been here before - with a pitch I wrote 2 years ago - and it was rejected because Act Two wasn't strong enough. (1/2)
