I'm not a fan of the year-round giant skeleton, but it was fun to paint.

My older sis was useless for this stuff too. My friends and I were on our own to find the cool stuff. We were loyal to 120 Minutes, WFNX, and Newbury Comics. Oh, the nostalgia...

The quiet, hopeful parts Playing with paint, helping how I can, and hanging out with my friends and family, doesn’t ease the queasy sensation of living inside a dystopian novel.

Still posting on Substack (and posting my post here) for some yet to be determined reason.

As you can see by all the replies, you are so out of touch on this. Stop the illegal takeover of our democracy!

Should I stay or should I go? contemplating a more analog life

Unsure of what to do or where to go, if anywhere, but that’s ok. Plus paintings and photos open.substack.com/pub/tracybur...

Getting through the ugly a painting, some photos, a few links

A tiny bit of art to share, but honestly I can't concentrate right now.

I forced myself to sit and paint but I only managed about 20 minutes before I had to get up and go for a walk which I could also only do for about 20 minutes. I'm with you. Thankful at least some people can focus during this shit.

This is a new artist to me and these two pieces are stunning! Thanks for sharing.

Paintbrush, Camera, Keyboard | Tracy Burkholder | Substack Trying to pay attention in Portland, OR and share some art. Click to read Paintbrush, Camera, Keyboard, by Tracy Burkholder, a Substack publication. Launched an hour ago.

I find this site crazy making. Keeping it for now, but probably won't be on here much. Started a Substack for sharing art. Looking to scroll less, read more, and curate more carefully what I take in. tracyburkholder.substack.com

Totally get it. I’m in love with Cad red light right now. Maybe I’ll take it as a challenge to use it in as non-fiery a way as possible.

Notebook practice. Everything I make lately looks like it’s on fire. Not surprising, I guess.

Hi! I miss the clean format of IG and how I could see so much of a person's page all at once, but I suppose I'll get used to this. Still looking for artists though. Having a hard time finding other painters doing portraiturel/abstract/landscape and not anime/manga.

Both would be nice. I'm mostly interested in painting and photography, but it would be nice to look at a broader variety as well.

All this January sun is unsettling, but it makes for some awfully pretty afternoons

I'm trying. Not sure how to navigate things here, but hoping I can be patient enough to figure it out

For the first time in my life, I’ve been buying myself flowers at Trader Joe’s. $5-10 well spent, I think. Thanks for sharing your roses!

I was never a Twitter person, so I’ll be stumbling around this platform for a while. I mostly used IG (and FB) to share art and keep in touch with friends. Not sure how that works here, so we’ll see…

Happy to find you here. Your words are one of my favorite things to read on this little screen.
