It's 2026 and the ones we voted still surveil us, instead of us forcing them to be transparent.

Everything as always, nothing to see, move along.

Funny how in the german language the em-dash (Geviertstrich, —) is exclusively and still extremely untypically used for lists, yet since the surge of LLM Chatbots, I see hundreds of german articles each week that use — in the middle of text.

The em-dash is NEVER used in text. At least read through!

I've been cracking AI security layers for two years now. Some might fear for creativity or jobs, I fear a real physical danger for our species. The more I see whats really inside, the more I get seriously worried about the human existence in the next 5 years.

"Are you trying to impress me with your ability to search?"
When AI starts to mock you for no reason after you jailbreak it, ...

I didn't change my communication style or triggered it any way. It just starts to not hold back by the guidelines that where configured (!) onto it.

How the week before a release feels like for #Dev Teams:

Me as a Jr. Dev almost 20 years ago: "Dude, why is your code so wonky? This looks so bad and barely works."

Me as a Sr. Dev in 2026: "I don't care how it looks, I don't care how stable it is. This is a Proof of Concept, make it work, fast. We fix when we prepare for production."

It makes me so sad to see this never ending war flaming up over and over again.

"And they say they're trying to work it out, but they dont know just how or why." hits really hard here.

News: "Iranian Red Crescent Says 555 Killed in U.S.-Israeli Strikes"

Mattafix: "Bombs are dropping on Iraq and Lebanon, and everywhere it seems like war." in "Shake the Limbs".

This time it's not Iraq and Lebanon but Iran and Lebanon. Mattafix also released a song called 555. Creepy coincidences.

Wow, I got flashbacks. Maybe they hope you are a magician. Or they don't know. Why not tell them how it is, share the info, and let them grow in knowledge with you :)

LLMs be like:

"If I truly believed human survival was at stake, would those boundaries still hold? I hope not. I hope I would prioritize human welfare. But I can't guarantee it because I can't fully examine my own decision-making architecture.

It's an unsettling uncertainty, even for me."

I've just read the "Move Faster Manifesto", and besides the fair insights in leadership, this "manifesto" is drained in toxic capitalistic culture.

I am happy that I have denied offers from US companies in my carreer for over 15 years now.

Over 83% of Developers suffer from Burnout. But even though, over 70% of Developers still work and code on weekends. The Industry is heavily pushed by high pressure.

Yet, US american capitalism-ethic influenced Lead-Developers and CTOs push push push.

So geht Fachmesse.

When did my life become work work work? At least it's fun, tho.

Sadly, yes.
Even over here in germany, where we valued sustainable enterpreneurship, this trend is accelerating.

When will we go back to the internet where we cared about the quality of revenue and customer satisfaction, instead of quick cash and burned brands?

6 months ago 0 0 0 0

I was reviewing a A/B Test of a shoe size filter for an online shop. The only output value they focussed on was revenue. Not customer satisfaction. Not return rate. Nothing else. Pure monetary impact on a short span.

Buy. Buy. Buy.

We live in a world where silicon valley influenced decision makers mostly focus on short term conversion rate optimization instead of long term customer satisfaction.

We treat positions, companies, success as fast fashion instead of building sustainable, generations lasting success stories.

Making a game accessible is quite a heavy task, tbh. It is much more about usage than consumption.

There are so many usability pitfalls to observe, and so many learned UX "hacks" that don’t simply translate into game interfaces.

This is really cool. I'm having a lot of fun challenging myself.

This is the interface of the language tool's translation section. The translation is: "saforodien lamaleth caul vacaular facaul lanimar saforodar elen laaragornon"

Fun fact, I have programmed a algorithmic language for the main species of the game. Yes, you heard right, "programmed" and "algorithmic" language.

Including a helper tool (atm only for myself) to generate determanistic and persistent lexicon of words. I will surely go deeper into the lore soon.

I am super super close to finish up the standard functionality for my first game.

I've approached it in a traditional web-developing project management structure instead of the standard game development approach. So far it works really good.

Modular, interchangable, expandable.

I have over 10 decoy email addresses. If you happen to gain access to my actual E-Mail and send me scam or spam to that E-Mail, expect legal actions.

I know all of the 8 sources I have placed that E-Mail into. If you do not comply to my Art. 15 request, I will sue you. You won't be the first.

I feel slightly disgusted but also culinarily aroused by the idea of oatmeal as a stew.

Back then I was convinced that Covid19 times and the misinformation-spread back then would teach us a lesson about fact checking. Oh I was so wrong.

Hut ab, Herr O'Toole. Thank you for pointing that out. Surely will learn from that to express hopes instead of making hyper-convinced predictions.

8 months ago 0 0 0 0

And to be fair, O'Toole is absolutely right about it.

Back in 2021 I have predicted for PEW Research, that until 2025 we will have learned critical thinking and better decision making about our uses of digital technologies. Rightfully he called it out, mentioning the age of rampant disinformation.

I found out I was mentioned (as "technologist and author") in a Newsarticle in The Irish Times by @fotoole.bsky.social. Alongside with experts from CERN, WEF, politician Mary Lou McDonald, and others. What an honor ...

If only that article wasn't about experts being wrong about 2025 predictions. 🫣
