The Luxon Govt continues to drive away offshore wind investors, as effectively as it drives NZers to leave the country. newsroom.co.nz/2025/12/12/o...

Can’t see the water for the well - crony capitalism and the RMA - Greenpeace Aotearoa Dr. Russel Norman

There is so much bs about the RMA, I thought it would help to look at actual case study so people can really understand what is at stake. It involves the MP with the wealthiest property portfolio in Parliament, Suze Redmayne, and irrigation for dairy on sand dunes www.greenpeace.org/aotearoa/sto...

The Opposition is right here, but they chose not to ban #seabedmining. Still waiting for them to promise to at least re-evaluate fast-track consents.
But this pales into insignificance against the current regime’s blind faith that seabed mining will bring us riches: astonishingly naive.

Environmental Protection Authority will end up defaulting on loan if too few developers use government's fast-track process It plans to repay the loan over five years using application levies from would-be beneficiaries of the shortened route planning approval.

Wow.

Environmental Protection Authority will end up defaulting on a loan it didn’t want to take if too few developers use government's fast-track process.

And smart developers know the fast track is a poisoned chalice with projects subject to protest, distrust and repeal.

Shane Jones overhauls fisheries management, hints at further deregulation Flanked by industry players, Shane Jones announces reforms to catch limits and curbs cameras on boats programme

What a nightmare.

We need MORE cameras, not fewer - and they need to be rolled out across the whole commercial fishing fleet.

Guardians of the Ocean: the Pacific Islanders fighting Deep Sea Mining - Greenpeace Aotearoa Luckily for the world, there are people who’ve long known what deep sea mining puts at stake and have been fighting against it from all over the Pacific. To chart…

"Pacific people shouldn’t have to fight for the health of an ocean that benefits the world or confront another industry that threatens to cause them harm-but despite all odds, they do.

They are resilient but we must ask: why are they forced to be?"

AUCKLAND: We're calling on Fonterra investors to stop for a minute and consider the big picture. Palm kernel is a product of the palm oil industry, a key driver of rainforest deforestation in Southeast Asia, and responsible for human rights abuses and the destruction of rare wildlife habitats.
