Absolutely, there's always bad actors. Fortunately when beginners find the actual pixel art community, whether it's on socials or discord, the vast majority of people are already aware of these good resources and will recommend them.
As long as they don't take the misinfo as gospel and stop there.
I think pointing people to the tutorial list in Lospec is always a safe bet personally
I've wrestled quite a bit with myself on this topic. There was a long time when I made art 95% as a venting method, but at a point I thought "Maybe I'm perpetuating my negativity by constantly drawing about it" so then I ended up drawing 99% for coolness and grew afraid of going back to emotiony art
Every passing day I come closer to the thought that following the news is a cognitohazard and life might be better lived in peaceful ignorance until either nothing happens or very suddenly the world blows up

It's not absurdist, because using your common sense goes without saying. The saying is there to remind business owners to have empathy for the customer and find a way to solve their issue instead of saying they're wrong for having it
Obviously it doesn't mean "Give them free stuff". Don't be obtuse
Two new illustrations from the upcoming expanded edition of my Alien: Isolation book, which is being published by @lostincult.co.uk later this year.

I have a pretty good time on here as long as I only look at feeds made up of people (mostly artists) that i follow. The "for you" feed is very hit or miss
A new type of piracy enters the games scene!
Strong agree, was fun to see!
Working on a submission for a decorating contest in a game

You can do it!
i break my silence out of spite
Insane potential - can already imagine so many effects, like waterfalls and conveyor belts!
Do these takes get any backlash on LinkedIn or are the replies on those posts just filled with the same types?
That's one serious snake!
