Okay actually I'm submitting Wario Land 3 as well (all 3 Any% categories). Unfortunately I don't have great videos for Unrestricted or Glitchless but oh well, might post commentate if I have time. Derusting WL3 may prove difficult, regardless of category, but it would still be cool to run I think 🤔

I could submit 2 more games, but I need to lock in for the streaming deadline for K-STAR so that will take priority. In terms of derust: I love where I'm at with WL2, SoR should be very easy given my role, and Scrib will be harder but I should at least have like ¾ of levels fully memorized by now.

I also have submitted Scribblenauts (Any% No Repeat Levels, and All Levels), since sources are telling me that more games is more chances to get in, and it won't hurt chances of my priority submissions getting in if they weren't meant to be.

Submitted for SGDQ26: Wario Land II Main Story Glitchless (race with swordsmankirby) and Streets of Rogue Any% Co-op (with CMOJoker, RifeXD and enbyzee, same group and submission as last time). We'll see how it goes. Probably won't submit anything else this time but I have a week to change my mind

I think I enjoyed the previous kstar I did 2 years ago because I was way less busy irl, and because I was able to learn at my own pace instead of having a deadline before the actual event. This deadline wouldn't be bad for me if I had the headspace to start derust earlier but I only have a week lol

I've learned speedrunning feels like a chore to me if I do a game too long, or if I feel external obligation to learn/derust. It happened with wario relay, gourmet league, and is happening again for kstar. Not signing up for anything in future unless it's 1-off and I already know the game super well

oh yeah, in between that run that I quoted and the someone who beat my times, there was a patch that made some important game animations faster, while also adding content and rebalancing. despite the latter, the game is so much faster and the increased amount of luck needed seems pretty negligible

someone beat my times, and I beat them back a month ago, but I wanted to get a really good run so I did a couple more sessions recently, resulting in this run which is close to the limit (I think you could just barely save a minute more if you get super lucky)

I got world record! (33:42) I used painting warp, which is a difficult skip you can do in the first level that saves up to 16 seconds, although I didn't do it perfectly. The run is maybe equivalent to 33:54 without painting warp, which is 3rd place lawl

I also choked a PB in Main Story (normal category) on the final boss, which would have beat my PB from 3 years ago by 10-15 seconds. Hopefully I can get similar or better pace with better boss luck and execution

Double feature tonight: Streets of Rogue Any% Duos with Normal characters and Custom characters.

Our 4p Normal run is faster, but this beats the former 2p WR, and our 3p PB funnily enough.

The Custom run is just a faster run in the same vein as before.

Streets of Rogue: Any% Duos with custom characters. Very fast paced run; the loadout is a more convenient version of vanilla characters. Instead of Robot for support, I suggested a Demolitionist build, since it's a bit more efficient for stat points and you don't have to worry about ammo.
