I’m trying to look into the downsides of 3D, I don’t mind if it’s just more/hard work as this project is meant as a learning experience :)

Yeah exactly, that’s the thing I’d like to try. Godot just released something called “Stencil buffer support” which I think means that i could render the front face of walls and the back be invisible, then the player could rotate the cam around to see to the kitchen, toilets, etc!
