To be fair, the reluctance to make comparisons to Hitler et al was partially motivated by a fear of cheapening it in advance of the real thing coming along.

Now that the real thing (naked authoritarianism) really has come on stage, those of us who kept our powder dry aren't sorry we did.

I miss filler episodes. I miss 20+ episode seasons. I miss weekly episodes. I miss the community around waiting for the next episode. I miss seasons that aren't just 8 hour chopped up movies.

At least once a day I remember the 2024 presidential election will be held on November 5th and I get a wave of concern for what that day might hold for simply that reason
