Ancestors, community connection, and forgotten cheese. Western Sydney Witchcraft as its finest.

People are the System
There's no abuse registry in witchcraft spaces, no central authority, and no formal complaints process. So how does a community without institutional safeguarding actually function? Through people, critical thinking, and paying attention. Here's how to navigate that…
A bit of navel gazing about why we're diversifying away from Meta and where you can find us. Making sure we can continue talking about the magickal and not scramling to sort out the mundane.
I appreciate this comment - thanks for adding it to the conversation.
I've been a part of awesome groups over the years and I've been in some that have gone absolutely sideways. So I hear what you mean as well.
Yeah, I can agree with that too, I'm not naive to the horror stories either, however I think we need to be sensible and measured based on what the majority of experiences are actually based on.
Are covens abusive?
The framing of 'abuse in covens' as a headline deserves a closer look. It's not wrong, exactly, but it risks feeding a sensationalist rhetoric the witchcraft scene hasn't seen since the fictional Satanic Panic of the late 80s.

We're not leaving Meta, but we are shifting where things happen first. Event announcements, direct bookings, and real conversations will be elsewhere first.
If you want to join us for our next Sabbat, you can book directly via the link in bio.
Sat 18 April- Samhain Save the Date
Plot twist! It seems magick is actually real when you start working it, sooooo we have more to say. Workshops, rituals and more in the works for the Western Sydney Witchcraft community. Oh, and we have some questions for you too ;-)

I'd rather get it right than rush something that doesn't sit well. Workshops and rituals are coming. Dates when I have them. Pic for the algorithm. More soon 😊
A slower start to the year than planned, but not a bad one. Behind the scenes I've been deep in the logistics of making things happen. A couple of venue options didn't pan out, so I've been recalibrating. Accessible, affordable space in Western Sydney is still the puzzle I'm working through.
I've been quieter than usual on socials, but I haven't gone anywhere. A full couple of months. School holidays, parenting, caring, and the genuine pleasure of time with good witchy friends. Travelling to some, hosting others. Ritual, music, conversations that went long into the night.
Visual has logo and text saying - where to find us? and images of BlueSky, Discord, YouTube and LinkTree Icons. Also the website www.paganfringe.com
Friendly reminder: we exist beyond Meta. (Ironic given that we’re leading with this post on Meta platforms)

Canceling fun, but balancing risk. Midsummer Picnic 2025 canceled
Midsummer Picnic for 2025 cancelled due to extreme heatwave conditions and potential storm activity.
A blog post exploring the seasonal elements of Beltane and where it sits on The Wheel of the Year. This is a modern invention that we've inherited, but does simple date-flipping adequately address elemental and thematic differences relevant to the Southern Hemisphere?
Thank you!!! ☺️
Details of our next workshop on Thurs 13th Nov which can only be accessed by following a link in this post. Or finding our digital breadcrumbs elsewhere online. Or link in bio. Best if you just read our silly post :-)
For some Pagan Fringe witchcraft events, we need to be intentional in how we manage numbers for accessibility and comfort. Some events will require bookings and RSVP for this reason. Perhaps you can help us expand with ideas for additional venues - accessibility is a must! Happy to hear from you!
Today I got to preview a tiny selection of the Tillett & French Collection at Sydney University consisting of over 15,000 items covering the occult, magic and witchcraft. Dr Brendan French kindly gave a brief talk about the collection and the occult.
This is the second blog post in our Boundaries and Belonging series about understanding different terms and group structures. You should read this if you're curious about group or coven work, but not sure where to start because aren't they all the same thing? (answer - no!)
A blog post about the reimagining of Imbolc in the Southern Hemisphere, specifically the East Coast/Sydney or anywhere in Australia where it gets hot, and the idea of celebrating fire in Summer is a little triggering.
A brief blog post to explain why we hosted the Boundaries and Belonging panel in July and to introduce the Resource Pack which was created to accompany the event, giving attendees (and now you dear reader) some practical tools to explore your own path a little more mindfully.
Boundaries & Belonging
What can I say? What an incredible evening. From all reports our panel discussion ‘Boundaries and Belonging’ was thought provoking, well received, and it bought together a lovely mixed cross-section of pagan, occult and witchy people from a variety of traditions, from all…
Reflections on Yule, celebrating Sabbats in the Southern Hemisphere specifically Western Sydney and what I've personally been up to since Samhain.
Boundaries and Belonging Panel has been rescheduled for Thurs 17th July. Come and join the panel disucssion with a Wiccan initiate, a Norse Priestess and a Vodou Priest as we discuss what trust, consent and accountability looks like in occult and witchy communities. Reserve seating - see links.
Seeking and Finding: Spiritual connections in a capitalist world
A more lengthy blog post on the nature of seeking and finding spiritual connections in a capitalist world, and the start of the conversation on how we can navigate 'scope creep' from others looking to make a profit in our sacred…
