Make of the constitution what you will.

Senators? Congressman?

Supreme Court Justices?

Yeah, whatever, fair enough.

The real fight is for pizza, and Chicago is losing.

Goddamn I love pizza combat.

You can have your opinions about the constitution or the supreme court, the Congress and the democracy.

But fuck you!

Pizza is holy!

I love America.

I love the different versions of stuff we do. Food culture in America is elite.

Chicago deep dish “pizza” is a fraud.

Jalapeño, pepperoni pizza

Jalapeño, pepperoni pizza

Look, I make homemade pizzas regularly. The cuts are silly. The crust is usually quite cooked.

It’s not not casserole.

No one would confuse it with casserole.

Chicago calls casserole pizza.

This is not pizza.

Let’s talk about pizza

Almost every major metropolis has a version of pizza.

New York, Detroit, etc.

The problem is Chicago.

The reality is that every incredible journalist or academic I know will acknowledge they’ve made an error, say so, apologize, and move on.

If you don’t give a shit about your audience, your followers, people who care about what you’re saying, you’ll blame the “media” or the internet-at-large.

One: acknowledge your error, take responsibility, and apologize.

Two: pretend you had nothing to do with the misinformation and move on.

These are two extremely different propositions.

Okay so let’s talk about accountability.

I’ve made mistakes as a journalist. I apologized.

Journalists that are more well known than me have made mistakes. So have academics and thought leaders.

There’s two paths to pursue after this (and I hate to be duality guy).

Classic Kerbal Space Program problem.

You need to go to the tracking station, find the debris and satellites, and click “Terminate”
