“It is frustrating to see some commentary that ascribes the State’s falling birth rate to vague claims about a more hedonistic or selfish generation of millennial women, rather than concrete socioeconomic factors including housing and the cost of living”

Renters are being squeezed long before they ever move in.
Up-front rental costs (broker fees, deposits, first/last month rent, etc.) can easily reach thousands of dollars and, in high-cost markets like New York, can climb to nearly $13,000. @aherm.bsky.social

Another day, another chaos with the Irish Rail: one train is stuck ??? northbound due the rain !? so all trains North & South are leaving from the same platform and everyone is very confused (me included) in which direction the train is going
It would be laughable if it wasn’t for massive delays
Currently on the Irish Rail commuter and I really appreciated the announcements about:
NO VAPING OR SMOKE
USE EARPHONES 😀
NO ALCOHOL
RESPECT EACH OTHER'S SPACE
Thank you Mr Driver

It seems minister are forgetting international students fees and tuition help sustain Irish universities which are underfunded?
English-school needs more regulation, but it should focus on the school and not on keep students out of the country
I find this blame migrants' rhetoric very concerning and now widespread in the Irish government
Ministers in this article talk as if international students are doing something wrong by finding a job, which is ALLOWED by their visa

So if anyone challenge the bloody and violence (32 people died in Ice custody so far) you have to be left-wing activist.
Anyone with a minimal notion of right/wrong and respect for life will reject this criminal and racist anti-migration policy
This Bushman is not funny or cleaver >> I's not performance art. It's just harassment for clicks. There’s a big difference between actual street theatre and this kind of ambush nonsense. Real performers bring something to the city. This is just jump-scares for ad money

Despite all the negative fuss, the EU + Mercosur trade deal was approved. This is a big development as this negotiation took 25 yrs and a it's a big win for Lula, who is seeking reelection.
The deal will now need to be ratified by a majority of MEPs tho
