Their demands are clear: an immediate ban on ICE/CBP from all future recruitment fairs, formal policy requiring judicial warrant for any fed immigration enforcement on campus, & public reaffirmation of NMSU as a sanctuary for all workers/students. @nmsu-sports.bsky.social do the right thing.

Proud to stand w/NMSU students today who are demanding that my alma mater, live up to its promise as an HSI/Land Grant uni. These students are our legacy: first generation, children of immigrants, Black and Brown students, who chose New Mexico State, because they believed it would protect them.

We will be watching closely to make sure this hearing happens in Doña Ana County, in English and Spanish, where the people most impacted can actually show up. Stay vigilant 👏🏽 keep organizing 👏🏽 This community showed up and it made a difference. Don’t stop now.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​

Why Are We Backsliding on Juvenile Justice? Over recent decades we’ve moved toward a much more effective and humane system to deal with youth crime. Evidence and research, not hyperbole and hysteria, should be guiding today’s debate.

Reading this, and can't help but think of a certain DA-turned-gubernatorial-hopeful who’s all in on dragging us backwards. We’ve been here before. Locking up kids didn’t work then, and it won’t work now. We need investment, not incarceration.
