🚨 Call to Action🚨
City of Las Cruces is considering allowing border patrol to build new facility near an elementary school here in LC. Please follow this call to action from Councilor Johana Bencomo. If we can’t stop it from being built, we’re urging that it be built somewhere more remote.

I’ve had a hard time reconciling Sen. Heinrich’s vote for Mullins for DHS sec. Honestly, I’m 💔 . So I went back to something I wrote for Public Lands Rally during NMLeg, which unfortunately he left too soon to hear. This message is also to Public Lands mvt. Please do better.

Senator Heinrich, You Should Have Stayed During this past legislative session, I was honored to speak at the Public Lands Rally, shortly after some powerful words were made by Senator Martin Heinrich.

My response to Sen. Martin Heinrich’s Yes vote for Markwayne Mullins for Secretary of Department of Homeland Security.

Their demands are clear: an immediate ban on ICE/CBP from all future recruitment fairs, formal policy requiring judicial warrant for any fed immigration enforcement on campus, & public reaffirmation of NMSU as a sanctuary for all workers/students. @nmsu-sports.bsky.social do the right thing.

Proud to stand w/NMSU students today who are demanding that my alma mater, live up to its promise as an HSI/Land Grant uni. These students are our legacy: first generation, children of immigrants, Black and Brown students, who chose New Mexico State, because they believed it would protect them.

We will be watching closely to make sure this hearing happens in Doña Ana County, in English and Spanish, where the people most impacted can actually show up. Stay vigilant 👏🏽 keep organizing 👏🏽 This community showed up and it made a difference. Don’t stop now.

7,155 New Mexicans demanded to be heard and NMED is now recommending a public hearing on the Project Jupiter air quality permits!! This is what organizing looks like, y’all 💪🏽 But we’re not done. A hearing recommendation is not a hearing, and a hearing is not a denial of permits.

She didn’t have to but she did. The people of Minnesota (and this nation) are so lucky to have Congresswoman Omar.

I’m ok. I’m a survivor so this small agitator isn’t going to intimidate me from doing my work.

I don’t let bullies win.

Grateful to my incredible constituents who rallied behind me. Minnesota strong.

Something important to understand about ICE thugs in the Twin Cities is that they're harassing innocent kids and parents at bus stops and schools every single day. Even after the Pretti shooting. It's terrorism.

ESPECIALLY with WVA just trying to come back from injuries that seemed to have really messed him up physically AND mentally. I woke up extra early to just watch him ride. It was good to see him out there 🫶🏼

New Mexicans must stand with immigrants Today I write not just as an elected official but as an immigrant, a woman of color and someone whose very presence in public office is under attack. I am

“They fight w/fear. We fight with love. When they show up with violence and lies, we respond with dignity & truth. New Mexico must be a model for what justice looks like when we center humanity over fear and courage over comfort.” 👏🏽

🗣️“Unfortunately, my radio wasn't working after my crash, so I tried to sprint as hard as I could and, like an idiot, I raised my hands when there were guys in front of me. It could have ended better, but I could have gone home too, so it's okay."

Julian Alaphilippe: "I managed to put my shoulder back on, I remembered how they did it in the hospital. I fought, I had good legs. The radio didn't work after the fall. Like an idiot, I sprinted to try to win. Morale is fine." #TDF2025

Why Are We Backsliding on Juvenile Justice? Over recent decades we’ve moved toward a much more effective and humane system to deal with youth crime. Evidence and research, not hyperbole and hysteria, should be guiding today’s debate.

Reading this, and can't help but think of a certain DA-turned-gubernatorial-hopeful who’s all in on dragging us backwards. We’ve been here before. Locking up kids didn’t work then, and it won’t work now. We need investment, not incarceration.
