‘Fantastic Offer’

Yep that’s what sparked this… all well and good to ditch em but what are you supposed to do with that transparent Faust record where that’s the sleeve! I’ve put the record in one of those fancy japanese ones but not sure if it’ll help or not

Hi!
Last year was very busy for us and this year has looked quiet so far, but it's a hive of activity behind the scenes. We're looking for recommendations for press/radio people, UK and beyond, for a bunch of different releases, who do you love? Reply or DM or email us info@handofglory.co.uk.

Whenever I’m cracking a boiled egg, I do so to the rhythm of the words ‘fog on the tyne is all mine all mine, fog on the tyne is all mine’. It’s not a weird compulsion, it’s the exact number of cracks you need to crack.

So good isn‘t it? I was most familiar with that and Lonely Son, but played the record twice in a row today and it’s all brilliant

Just about to walk the beast but will listen in a bit, thank you!

Yep had it in my ‘scogs list but *cannot* pay big money for recent records, just physically can’t do it.

Has anyone even said they’ve heard, seen or own it since I last looked? Would love to know what it’s like

Yeah they go like this, sometimes. Also the old poly lined inners can do it, some weird chemical reaction. I bought fancy japanese inners for my best records

Sometimes, sometimes not, the stiff ones react with the record and ruin them over time, so that’s worth watching out for

I‘d only heard two tracks before it went onto my ‘must own’ list, it’s brilliant

Vernon Wray - Wasted

Vernon Wray - Wasted

Let’s go party people! Sad banger classic by the elder Wray brother, which inexplicably only came out as a private pressing, sold after gigs, despite Link being on Polydor at the time. Been hoping this would get a widely available reissue for ages

unidentified figure, left, Diane Arbus, right

There’s a subreddit entirely dedicated to people making ludicrous suggestions as to who an as yet unidentified figure on the Sgt Pepper cover is, but someone’s actually had a decent go today.

Had an anxiety dream that I hired a session drummer and they had never heard of jazz grip, the kit was already close miked with plastic oil heads, and they’d never heard any music from before the 90s so kept halving the tempo and playing some awful sat back horseshit.

It’s funny checking out excellent mid sixties obscurities on youtube because there’s always someone speculating that *any* little bit of audible guitar is Jimmy Page. Like they are playing pokemon and the music doesn‘t even matter

Haha yep! I really think you could do an amazing community music project, just by renting a village hall, buncha instruments and gently guiding people into making a record. Somewhere between Portsmouth Sinfonia and Langley Schools Music Project

Idea: an arts charity allocates a five grand grant to anyone in the UK at random. They *have* to spend that five grand on a creative project, regardless of whether they've consciously made art before or not

It’s such a useful calculation, much better than my old one which was ‘can I flog this for the same amount or more, if I have to’, that‘s started to prove a bit restrictive

Anything lower than ‘current retail price of a newly made record’ is a bargain, even more so when it’s a classic! I finally begrudgingly coughed up a tenner shipped for a copy of Afterglow yesterday, the only one apart from Patterns I’ve never had from a chazza.

Yeah I’ve only dipped in a couple of times, not seen anything too amazing…yet
