🚨 Happy to have contributed to the report:
" The State of the World's Salt marshes"
www.wwf.org.uk/our-reports/...

👉 Salt marshes have been lost to a crazy extend and this continue (0.28% per year).

👉~ 2 millions hectares could be restored

Spatial distribution of modelled changes of Mediterranean coastal marsh areas between 2020 and 2100 for a medium climate scenario (SSP2-4.5). Coastal management scenario where wetland inland migration is highly constrained (population density threshold of 5 people km−2)

Effective, efficient, and fair peer reviewing 2023 Effective, efficient, and fair peer reviewing Ben Bond-Lamberty Based on a presentation at the AGU Early Career Scientist Workshop, 2019 1

Scientists are expected to do peer reviewing but no one tells you HOW. After talking with several folks about this today at #AGU24 , it seems a good time to link to this presentation I made several years ago -- feel free to use/share! docs.google.com/presentation...

📢Exciting paper "Salt marsh litter decomposition varies more by litter type than by extent of sea-level inundation". nature.com/articles/s43... Root functional type is a key control of organic matter decay, inundation duration has only a slight effect - with a MEGA marsh organ!

New Root paper: Accesible AI model for ecologists fails to catch roots in complex mature forest soil images from minirhizotrons 😭. More collaborative work needed!

📢Very happy that our new publi on Global Mangrove Root production🌳🌊 is online!🎉 We used a systematic review to assess root prod, its control and role in the carbon budget of mangroves @GlobalChangeBiology: t.co/ch3Q5La3ux
