We’ve asked Ed Miliband to attend;
➡️ To show the UK Government supports the transition with like minded, high ambition countries
🗺️ To contribute to a detailed roadmap for a transition that is fast, fair and funded
💰 To commit the UK’s fair share to putting this roadmap into action
Faith leaders say: Show UK climate leadership at Santa Marta 📢
We have launched a letter signed by senior faith leaders calling for Ed Miliband to attend the First Conference on Transitioning Away from Fossil Fuels in Colombia.

Faith leaders are standing against the government's suspension of refugee family reunion ✊
Yesterday, we joined Jewish, Christian and Muslim leaders, from all over the country, outside Parliament to send a clear message to the government: bring families back together.
✊Faith leaders are standing up against the government's suspension of Refugee Family Reunion.
And so are thousands of people across the country.
This cruel policy will only put children at risk and push refugees towards smugglers. It needs to go now.

A letter led, by @publicissues.bsky.social & @safepassageintl.bsky.social, warns asylum changes could end family reunion for most refugees. This risks more suffering & dangerous journeys.
We stand for compassion.

Thank you for all your support on this campaign and to @safepassageintl.bsky.social for helping us to coordinate the letter. We will be praying for the Government to listen and act for refugee families.

🚨The Chancellor highlighted positive steps taken so far to tackle hunger in today’s #SpringStatement
We welcome these, but with 6.8 MILLION people facing severe hardship, the UK government must make more plans to tackle hunger in the upcoming Autumn Budget. 🧵
(2/2) your spirit will be the encouragement we need to keep to speaking out against it.
Today, we ask for breakthrough for those facing situations of injustice. May they know a sense of hope that only you can bring. Amen.

A Prayer - from Compassion UK
Heavenly Father, you to teach us to seek justice, to defend the oppressed and take up the cause of the fatherless and the plea of the widow.
We ask that when the scale of injustice seeks to overwhelm us (1/2)

Today is UN World Day of Social Justice✊
This is a perfect opportunity to remind ourselves of our Christian call to 'loose the bonds of injustice' and keep standing in solidarity with marginalised peoples, even when it feels like there is so much going on in the world.
What justice issues can you reflect on this Lent? How can you learn more about modern worldly temptations and how we might resist them? 🏜️
"Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. He fasted for forty days and forty nights" - Matthew 4: 1-2
Food banks are a lifeline. But they’re not a long-term solution to hunger.

Our statement responding to the Home Office proposals for "earned settlement" is now on our website.

Human beings shouldn't need to "earn" settlement.
"Any changes must take into account the real-world circumstances faced by many immigrants and not push those already at the margins of our society into further destitution and uncertainty."

Give wisdom and compassion to leaders with the power to make a difference.
Amen. (2/2)

🙏 Prayer (1/2)
Loving God,
Today we hold the survivors of FGM in our hearts, for the trauma and pain that they have experienced.
We pray for all those who are at risk of FGM, and ask that they be protected.
We pray for justice for survivors, and a commitment to eradicating FGM across the world.
